As a former Siberian husky breeder, the reason she is doing this is not to stress you, Rachel, the kids. It's not because she doesn't want to breed Leske. As long as she's bleeding, she's not ready to breed yet. Leske is freaking out because he can smell she is coming into heat. She is leaving because she knows her job is to protect the goats, the coyotes can smell her coming into heat. A male dog, coyote can smell a female in heat 5 miles away. She is trying to keep the coyotes away from the farm. She's not doing it to be bad, be naughty, be stubborn. She's actually a very smart LGD to do that. Good luck

The chicken house has 6 foot fence and the ground is very hard to dig in, shed for rain and sleeping something for a gate and a large outside John.

Even when Cora is out of heat, she may continue to escape. I hate to say it, but if she does, you may have to concider to rehome her because she will teach the other two to follow her when she escapes. There are times that a dog is not happy where there at, no mater what you do and for there sake you may have to consider that. Will say prayers that things turn out for you with Cora. God Bless.

Make an appointment with the vet and get her to them and have her fixed. I was given a female that was in heat and she had been bred. They said as long as it's no more than 3 weeks they would fix her. YES, they fixed her while she was in heat. Don't let them tell you they can't because they can. I just went through it with our female in July.
