I am a fan of MMA since around 2004, and I have yet to find a more charismatic, entertaining, commentator, fighter, you name it, than Bas... El Guapo made everything look so simple in his fights, and also he makes it simple when explaining technique, showing his work on cardio and so on... I urge you to watch his fights with his own commentary and explanations, you can't stop watching it. Oh, and his street defense tips... they work.

When I watch Bas fights I always have a this little unsettling feeling of fear for a second or two in my stomach. because he seemed to have no fear in the ring. He was always composed (except in this fight) and it allowed him to plan his game and adapt with effective weapons we don't often see in a competive fight like his famous palm strike, which we learn in karate, but don't think of using in a real fight. But Bas Rutten proved it works! But if you panic, you will not think of using those techniques or tale the time to place liver shots. Bas is absolutly right, emotions have to be controled in a fight. Wether it be fear or anger, they have to be surpassed. Georges Saint-Pierre used to vomit before many fights, because he knew he was about to face trained warriors that can inflict pain, but once in the ring he became GSP and there was no more place for fear. Two memorable MMA fighters those guys! :o)

Well they technically did not lie about giving you an easy opponent. His training did not exactly hold up. You mauled the guy. He seemed terrified. They may have genuinely thought that there were only very, very few opponents that would not come easy to you in your prime, and I think we may all agree on that in retrospect. The finest and smartest gladiators of ancient Rome would never think of starting a bar fight if they saw you chilling in a good mood there. El Guapo, King of Pancrase, a style they are familiar with... Such a lethal combination of focus, will, intelligence and athleticism.

Hey bas update on my 2.0 version of the O2 trainer, i folded some paper towels up and placed them inside of the case to where it keeps the valve flush and now it seems to be doing better with just 30 minutes like that. Im gonna leave it like that overnight but maybe you can start shipping them with a little foam piece in the case to keep the valve from getting bent while in storage. Thanks Edit: nevermind i seen a video where bas says it wasnt intentional but is actually a good indicator if you are breathing in hard enough or not

@2:39 I 'trained myself' by emulating what is taught in 'Bas Rutten Superior Free Fight Techniques' 5-part series, not a plug just fact! They are the most relevant fight training videos ever made to this day imho. @10:15 you can clearly see cumulative damage from repeated liver strikes by opponent's flailing hand trying to guard area unsuccessfully "-D @12:17 It was beautifully ugly like Anime collisions where matter gets reorganized explosively.

Bas have you tested the O2 trainer 2.0? Im having a problem where the larger screens arent providing enough resistance to engage the valve screen, i have to equip the smaller screens like #5 and below to even engage the flap. The problem is the valve flap itself is warped slightly upwards, it doesnt sit flush naturally without alot of suction pulling it to create the seal. Maybe this is just my unit but i think the circular shape flap is more prone to dimpling/warping.
@ASSman864
@ASSman864 2 жыл бұрын
Also when i completly close the side that would hold the selected screen size, im still able to pull air thru the valve side, is this intentional or is it supposed to be a complete seal? I feel its letting more air in the valve side than the smaller 1-1.5 screens would provide to begin with. Man i wish we could get the original style 02 trainer with this new and improved snorkel style mouthpiece. Thanks Bas

@@OfficialBasRutten thanks bas, i just watched the video you sent and that makes total sense, ill try it without the plastic washer when i get home but ill probably end up leaving it as it is. And when you say you only suggest to do the breathing excerises does that mean no shadowboxing, bag work or running with the O2 trainer? Thanks for the quick feedback/response bas, greatly appreciated
