emperor: rise of the middle kingdom - housing tutorial + play strategies part1

This first part is a how-to on the efficency housing loop. In the next two videos ill move on to ways to cheat on labor costs and such. NOTE: my wage is always set to very high and my taxes are set to outrageous...It works...trust me.

make sure your market is fully stocked with multiple types of food. Also to have 2 peddlers running you will need the market fully employed. make sure city has a little bit extra population

i know this video is kinda old, but in order to get it online(LAN, Hamachi) go to multiplayer screen then in bottom right there is a button that says "Other Multiplayer" after setting up hamachi you should see the hamachi LAN IP under the options tab. 1.) LAN tab 2.) Host game(bottom right) 3.) Name the Game 4.) Create Game 5.) Wait for players to join 6.) Start Game

road blocks block all wondering walkers. Gates do the same, but you can set it to let some pass... the ones of concern here are the market guys with their carts.. they need to get into the housing area without actually having the market in the area. If you look on the top side of the market I do use a road block and It is because I don't want any of the market guys going that way.

@AlexhandrDenthanor I haven't played in a while, so I don't remember the exact steps. It was very picky, you had to start up hamachi and be connected... then go to control panel and disable your real network connection but leaving hamachi's enabled. Then start emperor and host a direct connect game, and once it is up, reenable your lan connection and reconnect to hamachi. At that point, all other players should join the game, select hamachi as their IP and join by IP (hamachi ip (5.x.x.x))

@AlexhandrDenthanor Humm, I just remembered, I also had all of my players make the following change. "Go to the Emperor main-directory. (usually C:\Sierra\EmperorRotMK) Look for the file "WONLobby.cfg" and open it with NOTEPAD. Set the value for "CdKeyCheck" from true to false." After having everyone make that change, try the steps again. If that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas.

@light24bulbs Everyone needs hamachi installed and to be on the same network. The host must disable his real network connection or unplug it. Then go in and host a direct connect game. After the game is hosted, he reconnects to the internet, and then connects to hamachi. At this point, all other people with hamachi start the game, go to multiplayer, then options,network adapter and select hamachi as irs. Non-host go back to the main menu then back into multiplayer and join by hamachi ip.

@NerdyHippy It is the last one to come out (except Caesar4) but I like it the best. I have tried the others and this one just feels right to me. Not that there is other good city building games out there, I just haven't found one that I got into like I this RotMK

Also, you do not have to have your ports forwarded for this method. You have to use direct connect with this method and the hamachi ip not your public ip. I don't have the game installed any more, but I have to warn you... it often goes out of sync really bad. The game will pause for some people and then rapidly speed up, and occasionally you will be basically playing different games after an hour or so.

@light24bulbs I have never played online. I think I tried once, but that was years ago. I don't even know how the gameplay works online, so I can't really help you there.
