What the imperium lost in Fulgrim and the Emperors children is heartbreaking. Of all the emperors sons Fulgrim tried to raise humanity to be as noble and good as the emperor was. What eggs me is how all the traitor primarchs you can TELL were destined to be the heart, the soul, the empathetical side of humanity. Fulgrim was his nobility, Aangron his empathy, Mortarian his unbreakable spirit, Magnus his intellect, Lorgar his devotion, Perturabo was to build the great works of the new humanity, Curze his sense of Justice, Alpherius and Omegon his subtle guiding hand, and Horus the culmination of all his aspects to carry on the torch and be his heir apparent to be a figurehead people could rally around.

I don't know why, but the scenario I have painted in my brain involves a few small changes where the traitor primarchs (with some help from their loyalist brothers) end up helping each other avoid their fall: Lorgar and Magnus save Angron from the Butcher's nails. Angron and Magnus find out about and subsequently psychically beat the Keeper of Secrets out of Fulgrim while Ferrus talks him out of his slide into degeneracy. Fulgrim and Lorgar help Konrad understand that failure to measure up to a standard is part of learning and the important thing is to grow from it, prompting him to open up to Sanguinius, learn the future isn't set in stone, and start mending his own ways before they can destroy his sanity. Konrad and Angron get Mortarian to pull back on his jackassary by showing him that a) normal people are as apt as psykers to become tyrannical and B) while the emperor can certainly be a jackass, the alternatives are clearly worse and in the instance he was ticked over, the golden boy really was there to save him. Fulgrim, Ferrus, and Vulkan talk the emperor into having Perturabo build his perfect city on Terra itself while Dorn works on the palace, and the emperor explains to Peter Turbo that he and Dorn are meant to be compliments, not rivals. Konrad and Magnus find out what Erebus and Kor Pharon are all about and get Alpharius and Omegon to arrange an "accident" to take them out of the picture. Finally, even if Horus gets stabbed, Chao has nothing to build on from that and with the help of all his brothers, he recovers and carries on as the heroic and loyal Warmaster in the name of the Emperor.

Whoever you are, you are an incredible person for listening to the requests of the community for releasing a "Pure" version of this song. It's completely on brand and understandable that the originally released song fits the Emperor's Children to a tee, so technically there was no actual need to make this... But you went ahead and did it anyway. To me, I think it's an indicator of just how damn well that opening portion of the original sounded before the Chaos took over. AI or not, it is unironically a very catchy melody, so much so that I sometimes found myself re-listening to that portion specifically and inwardly desiring a full version based around it. Funnily enough, both songs are true. Ancient Rylanor bore testament to his unyielding Faith to the Emperor; this song rings true to the Loyalist Emperor's Children. Now they are but shadows and dust, but for the Emperor they fought with pride, until their last dying breath. They rejected Chaos, now and for always, and such is their fate they rest eternal.

Well now I wanna see a good bit more of these (What If?) songs! This one is really good, could be a good fit for Dornian Heresy (or general AU) Emperors children. Also I have another suggestion for a song. If you ever go through and make Primarch specific songs, I can see you making a somber yet determined one for Guiliman where it is a bit episodic almost? Starting when he wakes up from suspended animation and then going through his thoughts on what he finds, his journey to the throne, his time alone with the emperor, and his determination to save the imperium afterwords. Also, could do a meme one where its Guiliman thirsting after Yvraine. : P
