@Emmawat What I don’t disagree. It’s true that you have to do bad things to survive. That’s why I don’t blame her for ditching LingYunChe, since she was really mistreated as a servant and everyone wants to lead a comfortable life. But there needs to be a limit. There are moral lines that you should not cross. I can never forgive her for murdering Ruyi’s children and spreading rumors about Ruyi and LingYunChe in the palace, which eventually led to the latter’s death. There is a line between surviving and committing inexcusable sins and she has crossed it. Giving your husband prostitutes just to please him is equally intolerable. So yes, I do agree that being 100% moral doesn’t help you to survive, but you can’t be 100% IMMORAL just for the sake of survival as well.

They work in a brothel filled with prostitutes. You can say guilt by association. (Let's say the police were going to do a "drug bust" on some sort of building. They're going to arrest everyone there, even the people that were just there.) Plus, while they may still be virgins, they may have done "other things"--nothing is guaranteed--and they readily gave their body to the Emperor even though they knew it was improper and against the rules. The Dowager Empress was right when she said she could have had them executed.
