Empire Knights are too pricy for their effectiveness, in my opinion. I feel that Black Knights get a lot more effectiveness for their price, compared to them. And Boar Boyz too.

This is not how it should be. Empire Knights should be able to win quite easily against boar boy big'uns. The bonus against large is meant to work against big monsters and monster cav not against usual sized cav. Maybe the big'uns on foot should have a bonus against normal sized cav, but to be able to destroy knights who are smaller than the boar boy big'uns themselves is a problem.

large in-game means anything bigger horse sized or bigger

Also, Boar Boy Big 'Uns have 8 base dmg, 22 AP (12 bonus vs large) while Knights have 21 base and 9 AP (no bonus vs anything). So, the Big 'Uns are going to do much better against anything armoured (although the knights themselves have much better armour than the Big 'Uns).

I thought the well trained elite cav, in full armour and armed with some of the finest weapons in the empire should be able to deal with some big orcs on boars with some makeshift armour.

you're thinking of reiksgaurd, but even they win with heavy losses. Point is you shouldn't take cavalry against the boar boy big uns unless it would be a severe disadvantage if you didnt

I still Think it's strange that the only cavalry that can win decisively over boar boy big'uns is demi gryphs and blood knights. The imperial knights are meant to be elite cav with much experience fighting orcs and other enemies of the empire and they still can't win over some big'uns on boars in melee. It's sad to see the imperial cav suck (with the exeption of the demi gryphs), the Knights should be able to put up a fight against chaos Knights and they get defeated by orc cav!?

Empire knights just suck tbh They act more like light cavalry that can't run fast than shock Cav
