I was in the audience! This was for the 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' TV show taping. It was in Hollywood, CA in a parking lot behind Jimmy Kimmel Live's studio on Hollywood Blvd. They performed 3 songs - "Walking on a Dream," "Alive" (their new single at the time, and with a rare appearance by Nick Littlemore) and "We Are The People." But only this song and "Alive" were shown on the TV show.

@James Cook Yeah, and a lot of artists don't sound like the studio recording, because they can't reproduce what they did in studio... Not because it's not possible, but because they want a more spontaneous performance, and don't necessarily want it to sound exactly like the studio version...This has been done for years... The more work in the studio, where recording technology is utilized to the enth degree... The harder it is to reproduce live... "Queen" had to use backing tracks, when they performed "Bohemian Rhapsody" in concert, till technology eventually caught up... All those "Mama mia's" and multi-track recordings... "The Prophet Song" etc. ... Brian May's guitar was multi-tracked on the majority of their most well known songs... Not all, but a good portion was...."Boston" had the same problem in concert, in the early years....When "over- dubbing" was king....
