Hello, good video overall although army comps are to be thought through if you want to win against archaon with empire since he is the best Chaos warrior auto resolver in the biz. Since you asked me to come to the comment section here you go : Recommended missile army : 3-4 artillery (Hellstorm for infantry, Hellblast for single entities or monsters/cav), at least 6-8 infantry (could try and get dwarf infantry with outpost they are more tanky than empire humies late, or Eldred Guard a Elector count unit, ) at least 6 hunters or gunners to deal with big monsters or heavy infantry (like aspiring champs or shaggoths), you also want a mix of heroes they are a go to to not let your frontline rout too fast and they are good support, empire captains are for frontline support or hero sniping, warrior priests support frontline or a cav charge possibly. A Fire mage to buff missiles to be magical is nice against physical resistance armies, also light mage for the net of amyntok (overcasted is area of effect). Recommended melee army : highly mobile (no artillery) army but that can enforce a melee charge if needed, demigriff knights are a go to, especially halberd to counter big monsters, heroes are a go to in this sort of army since you wont have much to deal with big monsters like exalted daemons and shaggoths though. A half frontline of halberds/greatswords wouldn't be too bad like 1/2/1/2/1/2/1 switch out units so that your frontline has the 1 being halberd and 2 being greatsword and they will combine strengths when fighting together, combined with warrior priest buffs shouldn't be too bad. Feel free to still keep some hunters because they get very useful late game. Other tips : having a bunch of witch hunters run around doing hero actions will help you out a lot, they aren't that good in armies but can be go to dispose of ennemy heroes or damage stuff, Heliobolis is too hard to defend and is not worth the cost and army slot. Tank is not worth unless it's the elector count one could be useful but no more than 2. Empire knights are useless most of the time and are far weaker than reiksguard which is still fairly weak, all outriders except elector count ones are bad if you want skirmishers take hunters or war wagons guns (not mortar), you'll never need flagellants it's a meme, swordsmen aren't as tanky as spearmen since empire's frontline is only to "make the ennemy wait" until you dish out damage with your missiles or magic might as well capitalize on melee defence and anti knockback. Having 2 armies backing each other up is always useful against stronger factions like chaos since your damage output needs to be very fast because if you let him melee you it'll hurt harder. @@morewarpstone I don't feel like waiting 3 turns to have a more tanky unit, thats why it's interesting to take the instant elector count "Emperor's wrath" tank that doesn't take the 3 turns + has an ability that helps a bit more. so no I don't think you should recruit regular steam tanks or even prioritise "emperor's wrath" unit.
