Empire Triple Refinery Build Order | Red Alert 3

If you are going Triple-ref against Soviets, yes, they are guaranteed to Terror Drone harass you. You can do one of the following: 1. On maps like Infinity Isle, deploy your Mecha Bay in the back right next to shore. This gives your water-ref Harvester time to run to repairs once it gets infected; 2. Get a Naval Yard next to your expansion ASAP. However, this would set you back a lot. You’ll probably want to upgrade your docks to Tier 2 at some point - Expect Akula Subs in mid-game; 3. Take a land ore node instead, then secure it until it’s fully walled-off. Land expansions are susceptible to early Sickle harassments though.

I get rekt in this game usually. I came up with the exact play style with 3 refs and dojos to oil by myself years ago. Getting destroyed is quite satisfying though, a lot of stuff to learn. I found your channel not long ago and i like to see some or ra content in 2020 x) Makes me want to play a little bit again.

There's a Observatory Outpost that's you should capture, can have bonus view sight. And if you enemy trying upper the air superiority you build some VX to counter Apollo on land and saving up some few cash

(Sorry for the super long reply. Ignore all of it if you’re lazy lol) Nobody ever captures observation posts despite all the buffs the devs gave it. Throwing away $500 for vision only and no extra cash back is detrimental, especially when two players are evenly matched. After opening with triple refineries, you are basically dead if you don’t at least secure an oil to get some cash for army production. Vision is overrated. An experienced player would constantly scout and always be aware of what their opponent is doing (no need for observation posts at all). Especially when Empire have the highly mobile Tengus. Unfortunately Observation posts are almost useless unless you already have a significant lead 😉 By all means get the obs post if you are totally dominating tho. Also I’d almost always choose Tengus over VX’s unless I was absolutely desperate or have extra cash to spare. Tengus just have so much more mobility and versatility. A good player won’t ever let your VX catch their aircrafts.

What kind of adjustment? I normally move my MCV as soon as my second ref core comes out, either to one of my refs or a third ore node. Just lets me deploy mecha bay or third ref a lot sooner and more safely.

Thang Nguyen he’d have been very hard to stop if he didn’t open with barracks. In that case, since you don’t have money to scout, just start building turrets and extra power if you don’t see a dog run in early on.

Sadly this is a fallacy, 3 ref opening on any small map is suicide vs any decent player. Trump didn't split his bombs properly, he suicide vindy by not escorting it with appolos. and even with his bad play, you still lost 2 collectors. There is no way empire can come out ahead in this situation. Alternative 3 ref builds on small maps can work consistently however you should be making 3rd ref after moving your MCV, this gives you time to recognize if they have anything to punish a 3 ref opener.
