Empires and Puzzles - A test of resurrection (Mother North AND Alby)

So what do we think of resurrection? Mother North and Alberich are probably two of the most desired heroes in the entire game. I was fortunate enough to pull Alby when he was featured in the Atlantis portal but I am sad to say that I don't think these heroes are as good as they once were. Since they are slow speed and on the wing 99% of the time, it is pretty easy to anticipate them firing and plan accordingly for if they do happen to revive. I had never seen both on one team but you can watch me let them both fire many times and only once does it finally start to cause me some trouble.
I am sure not everyone will agree with my opinion but watch the video and decide for yourself. I am NOT saying by any means that they are bad heroes. I just don't think they do enough to warrant the legend status they are given. In fact, I am much more scared of a team that is built around 4-5 hitters than a team based around 3-4 hitters with Alby/MN on the wing. The reason being it is one less hero trying to kill me and only a chance at the tables being turned later on.
That being said, I am happy to have Alby and I think he can be a great hero for war defense!

Hey dude! sft1965 from the forums. Nice work!! EDIT: I have to say that from my experience as a lesser equipped player is that Mother North is only a threat if you have a shallow bench. Lots of Telluria owners (Plant Girl!) know this by now. Take a red stack on in and it's over for them; AW especially.

A resurrect hero on the right makes zero sense. Once they use their special, and if someone is resurrected, that hero doesn't get to use their special as it goes left to right. Perfect example when Alby resurrected Ursena and she didn't fire, but when MN did she did fire. Anyway, great content!

I've come across setups like this during wars and I think they are far more effective there, particularly towards the end of the war when everyone has already used all their best teams and are just throwing low level heroes for a few extra points, this setup can consistently bring back the entire team.

Yeah for war they can be a huge help! I think I mentioned in the video description that I use Alby on my war defense :)

Don't you just love this game: >when the enemy has no chance of winning: 2 heroes with resurrect, both cast special: only one hero brought back (see the video); >when the game hasn't been decided yet: 1 hero with resurrect, he casts special: 2-3 heroes brought (resurrection like there' no tomorrow)

Lol yeah, they love that element of randomness! You can see during the final resurrect I actually was worried for a second because everyone came back and Ursena was already charged 😂

Mr. Spock Yea, I know this may sound weird but they may be better off on an attack team. Most people tend to take out MN or Alby first on defense. However, I’ve seen people use them on an attack team and basically turn a losing raid into a winning raid because of their revive special. By the way, what heroes are on your d team? I hope you don’t mind me asking. I’ve noticed that you have a bunch of great heroes and was just wondering. Lol

Yeah I think you’re right. Same thing with Tyr on offense :) I don’t mind at all! But I will say as long as I’m in diamond I don’t put much thought into my defense since there’s no incentive over 2,400 cups. Currently it is Alby, Finley+10, BK, Jabberwock+6, Kingston+9. It usually holds 2500+ to as high as 2650. My thoughts on defense are, if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. I’m much more concerned with exploring offensive synergies since that’s more actively fun and letting my defense be good enough for diamond 👍🏻

Mr. Spock Yea, I thought the same thing about Tyr too. I’ve went against Tyr in raids and to be honest, I really wasn’t that impressed. I think he’s a great hero but not the best on defense. I’ve seen what he can do on an attack team though and that’s where he really shines. That’s great d team you’ve got. Man, I want Finley. He’s awesome. My current d team is Kingston+6, JF (he’s not getting any emblems yet), Telluria+4, Seshat+7, Costumed Joon+6. I keep at around 2,500 cups. This team will change in the near future. I agree with you about looking at heroes from an offensive point of view. All the heroes that are on my d team are also heroes that I use all the time. They’re really versatile. That’s my only criticism about Guin. I maxed her not long ago and I don’t even use her that often. She’s just not that versatile. She’s good on defense but not that good on attack. That’s just my personal opinion of course. Lol

P. S. By that i mean when some hero being checked actually makes a difference and ends up helping the defense big time.

Jānis Muzikants thanks for your comment Jānis. I typically post the wins for my testing videos for two reasons: 1) it seems more exciting to watch 2) when I have the upper hand, it is easier to isolate the hero I’m testing to determine how they perform. That being said, would you like to see videos where I am defeated in a fight against a specific hero as well?

@@MrSpock well i was wondering if you ever go into a battle where it is close and one of those heroes makes a big impact for defense to decide the outcome, that could be cool too. To better understand what worked on these defenses well and what combination of heroes maybe at first unexpectedly work out well. I suppose your Morgan le Fay video actually was quite like that as she really did save the day on that 1st fight! (But then again it probably isn't that easy finding good teams that aren't exactly the same on top ranks as most people there seem to have almost same copy of team setup) P. S. But regardless it's cool to see specciffic heroes in action and how they perform in a fight, so thanks for those vids!
