Are you an employee who’s thinking of making an employment tribunal claim against your employer for treating you badly at work? Before you proceed, it's important to understand how much it’s likely to cost you. This video presents a snapshot of how much it can cost and how to keep the costs to a minimum.
In Chapter 1, we remind you that there are now no fees to be paid or other financial costs involved in starting or issuing an employment tribunal claim.
Chapter 2, sets out some of your options for hiring lawyers to help you with your employment tribunal case. Cost savings can include just asking a lawyer to complete parts of your ET1 form (employment tribunal claim form) and only representing you for parts of the tribunal process, such as at the tribunal preliminary hearing.
Chapter 3, discusses what, if any costs, you would normally have to pay if you lost your employment tribunal case. In the majority of cases, you wouldn’t have to pay costs, although you might if you behaved ‘unreasonably’.
At Monaco Solicitors, we offer hybrid solutions for employment tribunal work and negotiations. That means you can hire a lawyer to help you with some parts of your case but do the more straightforward parts yourself. So, be sure to contact us for more information.
