Wow I’m sitting here in tears. My brother was 25 when he had a car accident at 25 and became a quadriplegic. He lived to be 63 when he lost his life in another car accident. He became a social worker and worked with veterans with spinal cord injuries. He wished he had the use of his hands so he could have been independent but accepted his life and helped many. You are an amazing young lady.

You are such a brave person for telling your story, as a parent I dread to think how your parents were feeling after it happened, as you know a parents job is to keep their kids safe, they must have been devastated. I know I would rather go through any accident or pain than have my daughter or my wife go through it. You are an inspiration to so many♥️

Now that I am a parent I think about how my parents must have felt and I can't even imagine. So helpless and guilty I'm sure. Time and perspective has allowed me to see that even though I was the one paralyzed, everyone around me was affected in their own way.

I’m glad I found your channel. After dealing with left sided weakness for a while, I was diagnosed with a C2-3 intramedullary spinal cord tumor about a year ago. After one very arrogant and inexperienced (with a scenario like mine) surgeon told me I would most likely be paralyzed and to go home and spend the holidays with my family, I went to another surgeon who was an absolute angel. He is so kind and humble and was able to successfully remove the entire tumor. Unfortunately, the only way to do the surgery is by causing an incomplete spinal cord injury. I am confident I would be in worse shape if not dead had I let the first surgeon (who was confident he could do the surgery as well as any surgeon in the state 🙄) do the surgery that he had only done twice before. I don’t have to deal with nearly as much as you do and it is SO VERY HARD! It’s so comforting to see what your life has become. I definitely struggle with the grief of losing the life I once had. I was very independent and am now living with my parents again at 28, it is not easy at all! The recovery process for nerve healing is so slow and so unpredictable and I am always wondering where/how I’ll end up. Thank you for sharing your life for people like me who need to hear it!

I got a tick bite around 1983 when I would have been 16. Diagnosed as chronic Lyme disease in 2013 when I was 46. 2014 through much of 2020 was quite a battle of ups and downs through different treatments with short term reliefs. November 2020 a new natural medicine antibiotic entered the market that matched all of my Lyme disease coinfections and now I work 2 jobs. But all of this was through the prime of my life when I was going to have a manufacturing business, family, hobby farm and travel. Instead I live with my 87 year old mom and work at a pizza restaurant and a Chevrolet dealership and I have no retirement savings at all.

This lovely ladies story, and channel reminds some people of the strength of the human spirit. How people like her can go thru absolute hell and still come out the other side with a sense of humor, glowing personality, and fully functioning life (and family). AND Her story reminds other people of the frailty of the human body, the dangers of youngsters being off by themselves, and the inherent hazards of recreational vehicles. Lots of people who have children, snowmobiles or other recreational vehicles, and want their kids to have fun and freedom, are haunted by tales like this. Who in their right mind wants to think that their beautiful 13 year old daughter, or 14 year old son, who may be out sledding right now, may not be coming home in the same condition they left, if they come home at all? It takes a certain kind of Optimist to see past those things to the angel that hosts this channel. To have the simple ability to see her past her injury, and enjoy her content, humor, and zest for life is truly a gift. Unfortunately, I do not possess that skill as you do. It was beaten out of me in the accident that caused the incomplete spinal cord injury that put me into my wheelchair when I was 39 years old. Been there ever since. And like I described earlier, people fall into two categories, those that enjoy this content and creator for who she is, and those that prefer to put blinders on and pretend people like us don't exist. I am thankful for people like you, and the fact that you are clearly in the Optimist category, but you have to know that you are in the minority, that folks like you are few and far between. The chances of this channel having millions of subscribers is sadly slim, but the reality is that having 20,000 friends and fans is far better than having 2,000,000 subs that will ditch you as soon as you have a bad day. Kind of like fair weather friends, a life changing injury is the Mega Tsunami that washes them all away and shows you who is left that really cares about YOU, injured or not. Having survived my own injury, and Mega Tsunami of fair weather friends, I can verify that some of us come out the other side completely alone, broken, and bitter. So seeing folks like you, and this channel is a breath of fresh air, kind of like seeing a Unicorn chatting with a Fairy, and watching in wonder, knowing that they DO exist, somewhere. LOL

Every time tell my story I get chocked up and angry, angry because the 18 year old girl who did it, got away with it without being prosecuted because ( in the word's of the policeman " because she is only 18. if she gets 6 point's on her licence within the first 2 year's of her driving she would lose her licence " my response was " If I had been a toddler ( young child ) walking across the road I would have been killed outright. Same here...I don't remember anything about my accident. I was told I was goofing off in someone's power chair on a hill, and I flipped backwards (ironic, isn't it). I dislocated C4 (to the right), chipped the bottom corner of it, and landed directly on my spinal cord. This was 38 years ago...I hit it so hard, the spinal cord injury still showed in a cervical MRI a month ago (June of 2021), C5 and C6 started fusing on their own in the front, I guess from my head being jolted forward, to my chest. Anyway, the doctors said it was fusing on their own from a trauma. Thirty-eight years later, I can't hold my head up right. I regained 3/4 of things back and even walked after 2 years...but after a bone infection got into my spine and caused a second spinal cord injury, I'm now in a wheelchair (as of August 2019) and need a head rest.

@@EmpoweredPara damn, I clicked and lost my entire message 😟...you might want to check cyberspace 🤣...it was a pretty good one 😂. Anyway, I was saying I do wish I could remember and asked you if I'm not the only one who has no memories 😳...I don't remember a thing. They explained the neurons going to the brain are disrupted and there are no memories. I had no pain either because of this and often kid people I broke my neck and didn't feel a thing. What memories I do have are me walking home, but couldn't hold my head up. They explained it must have been the drugs because I was unable to move for 2 years...so there was no way I walked home. The real memories I do have were when I was in the X-Ray room and on a table and 2 people were holding my head up. Do you want to hear a real irony? The way I broke my neck was goofing off in a friend's power wheelchair. I was on a steep hill and flipped over backwards. I dislocated C4, chipped the bottom right corner of the vertebrate and landed directly on the spinal cord...sp it was an incomplete injury. I worked super hard and got tons back and even walked for 15 years.

@@morgancalvi6675 crazy 🤪. I have weird memories too. Our memories from near rhe accident are probably vivid dreams while we were out of it lol. My first real memories are from the hospital and them telling me I was paralyzed. I didn't believe them because I have phantom sensation in my legs. I only realized when I finally saw them moving my leg and I couldn't feel what they were doing. I realized after a while that my phantom sensation is always the same. Legs in thr same position never moving. That's when I realized I was actually paralyzed.

@@EmpoweredPara wow...I have leg movement...they are partially paralyzed. I can't feel them that much though although I can feel my feet...but it is an off sensation...no where near normal. Actually, now that I say that...not sure if I can feel my feet any differently than my legs. In fact, I requested nerve blocks DURING my amputation as well as before and after...and the doctor says he needs me to be able to feel skin sensation...which I'm not sure I even have. I told him this and he never responded. I never was told I was paralyzed. The way I figured it out was the cervical traction and the flip Stryker frame bed. Were you ever on one of those...where there are 3 straps and to prevent bed sores, during your totally flat 16 days, they raise the bed and flip you for 2 hours? The crazy dreams really threw me. I assumed they were true. They shouldn't drug you like that. I've had 2 spinal cord injuries now and I'm going to ask they never do that again...'no narcotics' are on my file.

It's your bodies way of "protecting" you in a way, at least that's what the doctors told me when I woke up in a hospital room after I had a motorcycle accident. To this day I have no idea what happened, not one single tiny detail. I went to work, had some conversations with co-workers and went to my office, next thing I remember is waking up in the hospital staring at my mom, one of my cousins and an ex-girlfriend, lol. After getting my equipment back it seems I was lucky to walk away with minor injuries (I hit concrete hard enough to crack the jaw of my helmet). I still sometimes wish I knew what happened, but it's probably best that I can't.

It was difficult watch this and not get teared up. Absolutely beautiful and well-done tribute to Blake. We all have heard countless stories of tragedy and loss. Many of us have experienced it in our own families such as when my wife lost her sister (8 months pregnant) and her husband when hit head on my a drunk driver. I often wonder if anything good that can came such painful events; and if I dare ask if there is a higher purpose to pain and loss. I believe one day in Heaven those questions will be answered. For now, each time my young adult children head off to live their life I say a little prayer.

I know that this young man's (Blake's) family and friends mourn his loss, but he wouldn't trade with any of us now. His journey in this temporal flesh ended at just the right time for reasons we can't begin to decipher. He returned to the Awesome Creator that gave him Eternal life, just as billions of others did that preceeded him. This physical experience is a testing ground, preparing us for the real world that exists on the other side of our final breath, in the Spirit Realm. Take care Brittney, God bless you and yours!!!

Very touching words. But please know truth.. John 3:13, KJV: And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. On judgement day we will be judged the dead first. Please know actaul scripture not deception told to you by men's doctrines Yah bless.

@@praisebetoyahuah4156 I certainly don't claim to have all the answers as I'm a perpetual student, always receiving from Father's Holy Spirit. Christ spoke in parables, allegories, etc as a type of Spiritual language that supercedes our 3-Dimensional thinking. He saw death in terms of "Spiritual Enlightenment" (Let the dead bury the dead). Awaken thou that steepest (in Spiritual death) and Christ will give thee Light (The Light of Truth). He is the "Light" that Lights the Life of Men. All return to the Father at the point of physical death. What happens at that point is between our Father and His Creation... Man can debate until the end of time as to what retribution awaits those that reject Him in this lifetime. We only have the School master (Scripture) and the Living Word (Father's Spirit) to divulge these things... ❤️

@@endtimeawakening5557 we sleep when we die and I go by scripture only. Same as scripture I pointed out. Yes he spoke in parables but I never quoted him here even tho he said we sleep when we die. We face him on judgement day.. It's why it's called judgement day.

@@praisebetoyahuah4156 As I understand the meaning of Christ and what He came to do is to fulfill all things. He came to show us that we're to "crucify" the Old Man (Carnal Nature, flesh, Son of man) and be Reborn the New Man (Spirit Man/Son of God). He came in the flesh to fulfill this for all of humanity. He lived as the "son of man" prior to the crucifixion and arose as the "Son of God/Yahuah" after the resurrection. We're all supposed to follow His example and subdue the Creature (Old Man and his former conversations) and resurrect the New Man (Son of God with the very Mind of Christ). This is my current understanding at my level of Awareness (where He's led me thus far). I strive daily to Love the Lord (I Am) my God with all of my heart, soul and mind and my neighbor (made in Father's image and likeness) as myself. ❤️

As a parent of boys your story moves me tremendously. In my teens I did some stupid stuff. And I prayed that God would deliver me from the stupidity of my own boys that can be tragic. I am a grateful father. Your story is a reminder of how unpredictable life can be. Like most parents I would rather suffer myself than watch my children suffer.....(tho I have no wish to suffer at all...) You have a great attitude. Most of us would not do so well. I see you have 2 children. So my wife and I are curious. Did you have cesarian or natural bith? And if natural did you experience pain? You can ignore these questions if it's too personal.

Oh... It's really hard to listen to your story. I have cerebral palsy, and I grew up around many physically disabled persons. So... somehow I should be used to "things that can leave you paralized or disabled". But honestly... I don't know if someone can get fully used to that. I always wondered if it would be easier if i had a story to tell. Something that explains what people see. But at the same time... I am damn glad that I don't have to think about "what would have been if I would'nt have done... that day. I will never feel any kind of guilt for whatever, or blame something... It's just the way it's always been for me. Thanks for your honesty, as always! It was eye-opening in a way. It strongly reminded me that "having a story to tell" doesn't solve many questions. And even worse, every story could include other people that could be even more hurt.
