This is the best kdrama that I've ever watched. There's something in this drama that you can't explain. Everytime there is someone asking for recommendations about kdramas, I'd always recommend this. It was not only about love, it talks also about politics, how the power can betray you, the greediness of the officials and how to handle your power.

tal tal deserved more of a death scene than just mentioning that he died in battle 🥺 one of my fav characters for sure... this is by far my fav drama bc of how different it was compared to most I've seen, even compared to other historical dramas... I became so invested in all the characters and honestly had a hard time picking a side for Ki. I laughed, I cried and learned a lot. I could rewatch this drama easily and will alwaysrecommendd this one to friends looking for something new.

I rarely watch a full movie unless its a WOW type! However, when I watched the first episode I was literally glued to Netflix and completed the 51 episodes in 3 weeks. I had to pause at times to read & grasp the full drama. This is by far the best of the best I ever seen in terms of story, drama, actors, music, effects, and all. Finished watching EMPRESS KI just now and I'm telling you I was so invested in this drama that I couldn't sleep a wink at night.... All the cast are amazing.... I had a good time laughing and crying. My fav character was TALTAL, I loved how he was so wise and took every step measuring carefully and took actions. Neither of the king deserved embress ki honestly cause they both were more focused on having the powers all by themselves. I was hoping for taltal and embress ki to be together in the end.😁❤️ Nevertheless, I really enjoyed watching embress ki.... All casts are superb. Great job.... Would love to watch this type of drama 👏

I loved this kdrama so so much. It made me cry countless times, like when TalTal killed his uncle for the good of Yuan, and when the Emperor died in the end. I never would’ve thought Nyang would’ve actually fell in love with him. I’m glad he got a happy ending with her. The actors are exceptional. My favorite character was TalTal hands down. He was such a wise man and a great warrior. Im glad in the end he became regent. The fact this drama was based on the real life of Empress Ki (Gi) and all the main characters were REAL just makes it that much more astonishing😃!

I just started watching this in August of 2021. Being a theatre person...I can tell you the acting is exceptional. Ever actor is marvelous! No weak links. I accidentally started watching "The King of Baking" as it was called on my TV listing. I tuned in because I thought it was a cooking show. Ha. I loved. So I did research on what to watch next and this show kept coming up. Well, honestly it's like a novel I can't put down. It is so well made, so exciting. I have lost sleep ...wanting to know what is going to happen next. I am halfway through it. I've never seen so many conflicts and plot changes, but they all work. Find it, watch it!
