I’m glad Anika Noni Rose got the part of Tiana. I heard that after she got casted, production based Tiana’s features off of Anika’s. So if Beyoncé or Tyra was casted,Tiana likely wouldn’t have been dark skinned, nor would she have had a wider nose. I’m thankful for that representation.

@@iidentifyasaPSLGoddess That woman, Lean Chase, although lighter, has a wider nose than Beyonce and Tyra and her story was used for Tiana's backstory (not her phenotype...Anika was the inspiration behind Tiana's look). It would not have been "fair & accurate". There is already plenty of light-skinned representation, and I'm saying this has a lighter-skinned black woman. I do wish black women in general had better representation (hate how Prince Naveen was kind of a bum although he's handsome and charming), and positively representing unambiguous black women benefits the black women's plight more than representing ambiguous black women.

Through every ad or movie or any interview, Zendaya shows grace and pure joy in loving her craft and her journey. You show passion effortlessly and I appreciate there is someone like you that we can relate and love.

I wanted to see Aaliyah movie on the big screen only if they had the right person for the role, the right people in general, music and everything done right correctly. I felt like this generation doesn't know about Aaliyah and how she inspired a lot of people, she's Amazing, talented, beautiful woman that died way too soon and didn't get her flowers. I will truly missed her so much, she is the princess of R&B music 😞 if she was still alive I'm pretty sure she would've been an ICON ain't no telling how things would've been with her.

Meanwhile the actress who ended up portraying Aaliyah was Bi-racial as well. Whoever got that role was going to be Mixed race. These casting directors know exactly what they’re doing. Same thing with dodging every black women who auditioned for Charlie’s Angels, to include the rapper Eve. It’s like when a company posts job openings but they already have a scope of who they’re hiring and who they ARENT hiring.. they gotta dangle the carrot to make it look “fair.”
@daniyahwalton6207 Жыл бұрын
Aaliyah was full black. Idk if you’re getting confused bc I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that she had carribean or something in her blood from her grandmothers side but the women casted as her were black and white no racial.
@aureliesene4487 Жыл бұрын
even if aaliyah is full black, you have to admit that she looks racially ambiguious. So i think it's fair that she is played by a mixed person
@daniyahwalton6207 Жыл бұрын
@@aureliesene4487 personally I think it’s a little disrespectful not to mention, Hollywood for some reason favors using mixed women over full black women as representation but hey, it doesn’t even matter bc we all know Aaliyah’s estate and family is not interested in making a biopic. As far as the Rihanna and Lupita movie idea goes I will say that I believe it will happen in the future it’s just a matter of their schedules coinciding with one another as well as everyone else being involved schedules have to coincide and the budget and the production value has to be there and there has to be a studio that is willing to put the money into the production until the film and into the marketing to see it through
