All I can say is wow. I was there 70,75-76,78-79, last tour 90 what an improvement from quansit huts, the old block 8 barracks (former prison) wooden barracks by runway to finally a modern 1 large room with shower, commode. you're living in the HILTON .

I was at Iwakuni for 4 months in 2005. Pretty much the entire base has been rebuilt since then, even the runway has moved. The barracks I stayed in were where the commercial PAX terminal is now. The parking lot of that terminal used to be a soccer/football field with a track and an obstacle course.

Yes the base has change a lot! I visited Iwakuni for a couple days in 2009 and it was so different by the time I got stationed there.

Only base in Japan that a Navy E5 and above is required to live in the barracks.

Right. I was offered a chance to move off base about 7 mo the into my tour but I didn’t want to go through the hassle of it.

I used cabs for my first week or so but I’d recommend purchasing a car.

Keep doing what your doing sis going very shortly and love the hair Ideas my locs are longer than yours so if you have any other tips because I dont want to cut my locs I will be Army they told me I can do a ponytail with it hanging down said it had just change for women but I did ask because my locs are very long to my bottom so keep helping me out with these videos

Hi there. The civilian barracks were right next door but I’ve never been inside of them so I can’t say for sure. I think it’s safe to assume that they’re the same, given that the buildings around it are the same.

Hi! Yes, it’s the same for Marines too. And yes, you can live off base. As I was leaving, they were actually urging the officers to move off base because the barracks was getting full.
