Be careful with the electric outlets on the floor where the sofa is ...had a neighborhoods home catch on fire cause something was covering it and all their pets died but one and the home windows cracked first and it was almost a half year when they moved back in. A company had to clean all the home decor,sofa and beds.

It can be seen you put a lot of thought in to the space, and how the kids will enjoy the home. Very thoughtful build. Not sure about your neck of the woods, but we just built a custom home ourselves and painfully went over budget by almost 50%… yikes! So when you mentioned wanting to save $$$ on your pool build, my ears perked up! You said you plan to be the contractor, thereby shaving approximately 50% of the cost. Would you please share how that works? I would love to learn how you plan to carry that out. Better yet, give a tutorial video? I would greatly appreciate your thoughts and insight.

Thank you!! Yes we went way over budget also. For the pool. I found a company that sells the pool and gives you a detailed print out of what is needed to get the pool put in. They provide the pool and you go get your own permit you hire your electrician and concrete person yourself. They give you a detail list of what you need to do. Once you get your permit they come and get your pool dig and put in and then your in charge of having your electrician and concrete guy come. When I calculate the cost for a medium size pool it it came up to 48,000. A pool company quoted me 100,000 for what I wanted. This is their website. Check them out and have them send you info. I was about to order mines two weeks ago then decided to wait a few years till my 4 year old get older. The day I was about to order it I got a feeling that I should wait for safety reasons. And like you- all came in at 100k to 115k. Whaaaattttt??? I’m simply wanting a 20’ x 40’ bean or rectangular pool with a walk-in entry. No bubblers, no hot tub, no bells and whistles- yet still that cost?? Mind blown! When we lived in Houston, we could’ve easily built that pool for 50 to 60K. I’m told it’s that much more here because we’re in a fast-growing part of the country with a high demand for pools right now. On top of the fact that concrete was easily accessible in Houston but is not where we are currently. So your insight and wisdom comes greatly appreciated! And you are smart to wait. If that gut told you something, especially about the safety of one of your children- Mama’s intuition is never wrong! You are blessed with a beautiful family and home. I wish you a lifetime of love and comfort.
