Amy I’ve seen a lot of KZbinrs getting new homes and I love them all. But yours is my favorite by far. My taste is just like yours and I know that feeling of excitement when you’re getting ready to move into a new home. Of course that was 23 years ago when my husband built ours . He’s a contractor but I literally felt like I was sleeping in a tree house the way my bedroom is laid out. ❤

One major issue with the paneled appliances and I do love them , is when the appliance needs to be replaced … And these days , appliances don’t last long :( Most are made to last … Brand new custom built kitchen and I’m on my 3rd refrigerator , third dishwasher … Dishwasher leaked all over my wide plank pine floors and caused extensive damage ! Make sure you have a dishwasher that has a built in pan . My dishwasher leaked for days until I realized , it was leaking under the wood floors and traveling throughout our kitchen

We used brick around our cooktop area. We put our double oven in as well. When the oven needed replacing, 20 years later all of the double ovens were so much larger and didnt fit. We didnt want to tear out our brick as its discontinued so we had to scrounge parts and have it repaired.

I always and forever wanted to design and build my own home, it never happened. The only thing I would advise is to take that TV off the lovely fireplace and put it on a TV stand at eye level. Not only does that TV so high crick necks, but it uglifies that gorgeous mantel and fireplace. My ficus tree that started inside is now outside and 30 ft tall.
