The hidden room could be your makeup, hair, getting ready room. Buy like a nice big vanity and have all your makeup and skincare and you and Ryan could have your perfumes and colognes on display on like a nice shelf or something then fill in the space with plants and such. Sink could be used to clean your brushes and such. Can't wait to see all the renovations and what you do! It's gonna be magical

When you revealed you bought a house it encoraged me to try also. I had been intimidated by the process but I went to look at a house in a brand new community and we were approved to buy it within a week. The process went so fast, I still can't believe it. Thank you for sharing your news and giving me the push to make my dreams come true. I vote for making it a gym room but more like a spa. We're buying an infared sauna (2k from Costco) for our master bedroom. The health benefits are so worth it! I LOVE THE KITCHEN! I'm a professional organizer and I would keep travel cups & mugs or cleaning supplies & towels in that "spice" cabinet at 12:21 and instead keep spices in the drawer(s) to the right of the stovetop! Store the trash can under the sink-- you can find a under counter pull out bin at Lowes or Home Depot :) This house is so cute and I love that you're sharing your vision for the space, I can't wait to see you make it home

I was TERRIFIED when you were talking about the kitchen cabinets because I thought you were going to pull them out and I was like “NOOOOOOOOO” and then you said stain them (not paint them thank goodness!) and I was like 🎉 YAY!! Someone who knows interior design AND isn’t going to ruin the charm of the character details of the house. Like… you do you, if you want to paint them go forth and paint… but those cabinets are beautiful and obviously well looked after. Anyway, SO happy for you Kennedy! Also, for the formal dining/living area I think just exposing the beam and making it one cohesive library/cozy space would be fantastic for game nights/hosting instead of separating it into two spaces. Your idea of putting the TV in the smaller area can create more of a conversation library area in the bigger space with the fireplace, but it will be maximum cozy throughout!

Omg the hidden room in your master bedroom put the murphy door and make it a den/library with a cozy nook chair and wall bookshelves! And the wet bar a coffee bar so when you wake up in the morning you can immediately make coffee shower, and get dressed all without leaving your room. I know you have the bookshelves idea downstairs. But the downstairs formal living room should be your table idea with the game night feels and then next to it your movie night room! And under the stairs have the bookshelves for video games and DVD's. Where your cozy hobby room I think is good and agree with taking out that fireplace. It feels awkward because it's too long on one side. But that is an amazing house and just the master bedroom I would be so stoked to have! Cannot wait for all the videos to come!

Depending when your house was built, that little bonus room may have been a nursery! My (super old) house has a walk-in closet because it was originally supposed to be a nursery. A home gym could be nice if you think you'll use it, but I think you might benefit more from a cozy nighttime ritual room. I've always been one to read or play games to unwind on my bed, but my partner insists the bedroom is for sleeping only and it's been a gamechanger for my quality of sleep! Anything you like to do to wind down right before bed could be in that room (big comfy chair, game system, small bookcase, etc). Then, when you're ready to wind down for the night, you go upstairs and you're right by your bedroom when it's time to sleep! Also, I would reconsider pulling down the mirror behind the bar. It keeps a lot of natural light in the space, and because the bar is so tiny it might start to feel cramped back there if you pull the mirror down.

For the mini extra room, I would redo the closet/bathroom area and make each of those rooms a little bit bigger since it looks like the mini room is in between them.. It would be so nice to have a separate room for the toilet, a bigger shower, maybe a second litter box area for the litter robot? The kitchen is my favorite. The under-cabinet lighting is a cozy touch and definitely works with your cozy vibe. Plus with the countertops you could probably do the contact paper trick to change the color scheme if you get sick of them. Trash bin should probably go beside the dishwasher. Close to the sink/dishwasher/dining area but not blocking foot traffic and is sort of tucked away so it won't be distracting either way, especially if it's a color that works with the rest of the room. 😊 Hidden room: purely a cozy/calm space. You could have room to roll out a yoga mat, but also have a reading nook/round chair, the wet bar could be for tea/coffee/etc, the closet space could be for linens/game/book storage? I can see the warm fairy lights already lol. Excited to see what you decide on either way! Congratulations!

I grew up in a big house and fell actualy fatigue from thinking of all the designing and rooms you have to fill. BUT for the extra room I would to a relaxation room. Not really gym, but id add maybe some stone or wood flooring. A small sauna, yoga area, smexy lighting, meditation area.

You could use that extra room in your bedroom as the cat's room; put cat trees, a litter robot, bins with the cats toys, wall shelves they can climb on, etc.... the sink is convenient because you can get the cats a filtered water fountain for that room and not have to go downstairs to fill it 😊 the cats certainly deserve their own cozy room 🧡

The secret room could totally be a place where you have your morning coffee or tea, and just wake up to the day,, a cozysacred space for you that you dont work in, you just romantisize your life. It would be a great place to have your books and journals and make your morning s and nights sacred. You could also go into the room at any point in the day when you need to feel like a princess

Love the house!! Since you have time, maybe you can wait to buy anything or decide what the secret room is until you live in the house for 3 months. You can keep the room empty/for large storage while moving in and then after you're settled and all your current furniture has a home, you can see what might fit the way you move in the house best! Like you said about the home gym idea, if you can keep the room empty for 3 months you would have a better idea of how you actually live in the house as a group :)
