So - Progress today... I used god mode to get into the Obelisk and travel to Masperon taking a Scout with me to find the Font of Knowledge site on that planet... Found the site after flying around quite a bit, returned and still the obelisk wouldn't work... No additional key is given. However, I found the Matrix key in my Scout inventory upon returned to the start planet Akua (which must have transferred there at some point) and the Obelisk door opened when I had that in my own personal inventory.... 🤭🙄 So that turned out to be a simple problem in the end... Despite wasting much time... But how do I make a blueprint of the Scout as it is now (upgraded with miniguns) so that I can just manufacture one like it to take with me? The Scout Blueprint isn't updated by saving the template it seems with the modifications made to this SV... (I presume this is only for repairing the current ship some how). Disappointing but I presume there must be a way of creating a blueprint to do this - but how! The other issue is that the Scientist Camp terminal doesn't work any longer. I can't access it. This is not a biggy but its annoying. I removed all the parts around this terminal (thinking they were not needed any longer as they were old base parts) and I presume this has broken the terminal some how even though my own base is next to it. I've tried putting down a core next to it and this made no difference. Any suggestions for this issue please lol? Probably another simple issue but I don't know the answer. Thanks again for these guides... I'd be stuffed without them!

There must be a way to save and upload modfied vehicles and bases as that's how things get into the creative menus of things that can be downloaded/subscribed to on the Empyrion Steam page. However its not something I've done as building things from scratch is way beyond my creative skill level. I seem to remember the terminal shutting down at the camp but don't remember why. It was a while back and I vaguely remember it was something to do with placing a core, which felt like a bug. I didn't worry about it too much as access to a terminal wasn't really needed so much at the time and there were others around the map if really needed.

@@kagang8959 No worries, I'll look into blueprints tomorrow and see if I can figure out how to modify the blueprints we have and then upload then as new blueprint items... It must be doable some how. ☺ No worries about the camp terminal either... It's not very important as you say. I suspect its because I removed the core there and that knackered it. Sadly, replacing the core doesn't fix the problem it seems. Thanks for your reply again today! just a couple of pieces short of Neo to make enough flux coils for the T2 core upgrade so that I could take it with me 🙄 I have the 2nd Teleporter and Base+parts ready to go. Just would be nice to get the last bit of Neo for the T2 core upgrade. I think you mentioned that Neo can be found on Masperon so I'll look there tomorrow. I need to make the warp device for the SV too!

Ummm. I visited the Font of Knowledge at some point early game when exploring with the SV. the Font activated then but the Obelisk doesn't open now (I've not used it in the mean time) - it still wants the key when I approach it! What do you suggest now? Is there some other place to get a key or some other action needed or is this another bug that I can't do anything about? On another note: I've found enough Neo to make the Teleporter... But I have no idea how to use it! I presume you need to visit a place before it shows up in the list? I've just got an empty list atm.

Each font of knowledge on the 4 starter planets has a key for the obelisk, so if the key is gone for some reason need to fly to one of the other starter planets to get another at the font there. Yes, once you encounter a teleporter at a trading post, or place another down somewhere else, then you get to see them as potential destinations. Once the teleporter is down in Akua it enables you to set up shop on another planet and then travel back and forth once you place a teleporter down there too.

@ thanks for this info. So I can presumably fly in the scout SV to the other moon instead of using the obelisk to get there. Then find the font there to hopefully activate the obelisks on all 4 planets... I presume I'll need oxygen with me for that trip and an Eva boost for the cold... Anything else I should know about?

@ is it worth setting up a base there or only travelling to get resources? I presume if I can get the obelisk open I'll not need base... So I'm deciding whether to take a whole bunch of materials with me or not!

@@SusannaSaunders I tend to set up bases on the further planets like Omicron, Symos etc, but pretty much exclusively to house a teleporter so that can teleport to a specific place, usually next to a trader for example. As the remote bases don't get used for anythign else, its pretty quick and easy to spawn one in and make the required modifications so that a teleporter can function (solar power, batteries, generator upgrade). Sometimes trading posts have teleporters and can just park a vehicle outside and use the trading post as the access point to the planet. Other than housing a teleporter, remote bases can be handy for growing extra crops for pickup during visits there, having a shower on site to get rid of radiation build-up, food in the frdige - all just convenience stuff rather than necessity.

Will your TP sensor setup ACTUALLY turn OFF TP if you port away from sector? Multiple threads suggest that TP will be still running ON and drain all your base fuel

The way I set it up the teleporter switches off as soon as you teleport out. Never seen it do otherwise. The motion sensor needs something to be there in its sensor range to keep the teleporter switched on, and once you are gone the teleporter is off. There is a glitch I´ve noticed though where power sometimes drains off in a base even though the solar power should be keeping it topped up. This isn´t related to the teleporter though as it happens too slowly, eg you can be gone for a few days and get back and power is down to 40% or so even though the solar should keep it comfortably at 100% (teleporter would have drained it ito zero in an hour or so). That might be what the threads allude to, but its not a teleporter problem.

@@kagang8959 I think you just nailed it, things don't get updated when you leave (as in the teleporter doesn't get switched off) I don't know the coding so who knows. as for the capacitors. technically energy is fuel, and since capacitors store energy they can count as a limited storage of fuel. but if the power draw exceeds the ability of the solar panels to charge the capacitors the energy will get depleted and boom go's the gens. assuming you don't have enough output.
