Terrific catches! What best/safest places to railfan in Atlanta?

Any spot during the day in the Atlanta area is good. But the best locations are really outside of town if you’re looking for safe places. Austell, just west of Atlanta, is a good busy spot. That serves the NS Atlanta North District and the NS Birmingham East District combined. Anywhere between Smyrna and Cartersville along the CSX W&A Sub is also a good area outside of Atlanta as well.
