Yes... the only difference was because WxS are hopeful people who still cherishes their dreams. Now, I don't mean to say that Niigo didn't cherish their dreams, but Niigo had deeper issues and almost unable to move forward. Even Kanade's dedication into making music was her way of coping, 'to find the reason she can live in the world'. Basically, almost all Niigo already despaired as if they unable to look at hope, but they desperately clung to a thin thread that (luckily for them) the thread was sturdy enough for them to share. The two group are just like how people copes with their problems and trauma, with one being hopeful and one fell into despair.
