looking at this just gave me a good idea having the disc consoles play technical noises from the real console when they turn on (eg. gamecube disc starting to spin, fan turning on, etc.) would really sell the immersion. it's a veeery tiny detail but i believe it would go a long way.

I remember when that tiny little band that moves the laser in my PS2 wore out. And it started giving grinding "REEE-REEE-REEE-REEE" noises for a while.

Adding on to this, have the sound only play during bootup, then subtly fade out after It'd be great for immersion, but definitely wouldn't want it to be a constant while playing.

@@Speejays2 In my opinion, it would be nice if that was a toggleable option because I would enjoy the system sounds constantly tbh. Listening to the disc reading clicks and hums and the fan spinning noise during completely silent loading screens is an integral part of (at least my) gaming memories. It's a nice detail to keep but I can easily see how it would get annoying and the beauty of EmuVR is that it's totally customizable.

This is incredible, and to hear that PCSX2 is a thing in emuVR now as well, oh man, I can't wait till Dreamcast gets its own model, preferably with the (optional) loud WHIRRRRRRRR sound of a real Dreamcast.

So I just wanna make a little statement. I've been optimising emulators all night on a few different systems which is how I found this. Retroid Pocket 2, amazon fire tablet, my phone and then I wanted to see if I could force android emulation onto the quest 2. Seems there's a way but I don't like how it's done but then I found this whole rabbit hole and I'm glad I kept on diving. So what we have is a PC running emulation from within a unity game and then hooked upto my quest/ valve index just so I can play my games on an even shittier screen surrounded by adolescent mess and it feels like the most natural thing in the world. For a while, slicing my way through the first map in Tenchu Stealth Assassins, I forgot I was in MY bedroom surrounded by really high-tech equipment. It was really weird, and I play VR games a lot. I'm so grateful for this, I really am.

I love EmuVR. Just like other VR games, it lets me experience fantasy stuff that I can't do IRL like owning retro nintendo consoles without spending millions on old ROMs

I really like the smudges on the discs, very nice touch adds to the realism. I really wish this could be played on a portable headset. We just add the ROMs.

You can play them wirelessly on the Quest, it's pretty alright

sadly this game is sorta not legal to be portable.. Well im not sure but eh probably?? Mainly due to the fact I think they might have PS3 Games?? also they have Wii games and all other games all for free.

Man I think the devs ran out of time for Emu, you know.. life and jobs and stuff, been waiting for more console models. I did my part last year with a little contribution, tho given how big the discord is I assume the problem is no spare time myb. These guys are semi-serious about this and this is the best VR software I have ever seen. Imagine what they can do with proper backing and full focus.. madness!.

When I bought VR, it was not at all for something like this, but now that I know about this, it's all I want to do. EmuVR is easily the coolest thing I've ever seen, probably in my life. Downloading this immediately

emuvr is a blessing to earth. excited for some of the other consoles to get real models, im excited for the sega ones specifically (i like their designs)

If you ever decide to add handhelds that would be super exciting Oh, also physical box art for the games too. I’d love to pull a CD from a PS1 case or the same thing with any handheld cartridge in the future.

would be fun if there was a way to make game boxes for disc-based systems, I'm always feeling like a savage leaving the game discs just laying around(plus side it reminds me of the time my mom would always enter the room and told me, again and again, to put the games back)

It looks like you don't even need a vr setup to play it, you can run it in desktop mode.

I hope if/ever this gets on steam that we get workshop support for custom models I also hope if not already supported that we get wii remote support. I also hope we get more models for the light gun like the super scope

I would think so this is just a very complicated front end with alot of modeling work(some of the newer games though may have performance drops due to this running in the back/forground) the question is how would they do it... would it just be something like an old beige dell pc with a Floppy/disk drive?

All of the supported systems are whatever Libretro has cores for in their system. Currently, Xbox does not have a Libretro core available, probably since Xbox emulation is still being worked out.
