Long ago, this would have been a quintessentially American scene -- the traditional jazz band with streetcars going by _frequently_ in the background. Now, you can't get this in the great majority of the Americas.

I love the Marbles. More Marbles should be loosed on the world. Chance and Amy are the dancers, teach in New Orleans and love the Marbles. To find them, go down to Frenchmen Street and ask the dancers you see there on a Friday night at the Spotted Cat.

This kind of 1920's American music is much better music than Any popular top-40 music today, which is mostly trash by comparison. Wonderful dancers here also.

Now, I ask you, that skinny right shin of the clarinet player, doesn't it belong to Craig Flory, these days of Tuba Skinny? Oh, my goodness, I almost didn't recognize Mischiya Lake with all her tattoos covered up! Great dancing and the accordion player is something else!

They must have come from NO with Loose Marbles. He is just a great dancer where she is a professional dancer, choreographer, and teacher.
@Marathonracer3 жыл бұрын
@@DanielCPurdy Chance Bushman has been a choreographer, and professional dance teacher for several years in NOLA. He's not "just a great dancer" although he started out that way as an amateur.. He's choreographed dance routines where he danced with the likes of the amazing Laura Manning, another very well known NOLA professional choreographer , dancer and dance teacher. You can see her looking to him for cues in some videos. Chance has danced with many NOLA bands, not just the Loose Marbles, but also The Smoking Time Jazz Band , Tuba Skinny and others. The Loose Marbles was a launching pad for many great NOLA musicians and Chance and Amy can be seen dancing alone with them in other videos. I love Amy Johnston's style and expressiveness, but Laura Manning is incredible for her creativity and totally natural, fluid moves and pure joy , despite others having won amateur dance contests with Chance, like Giselle Anguizola.

@heather4him Sorry I'm late, my sister's and I took my mom on a cruise for her 80th bDay :) Monday night after 9PM is MiMi's, at the corner of Franklin Ave. and Royal St.. From 9-10PM is a lesson, likely Peter and Mia are teaching. Walk off Frenchman St. going east on Royal St. and 5 and a half blocks you'll be at MiMi's. Check NOLA Jitterbugs for other happenings. Usually there's dancing after lessons. MiMi's on Monday seems to be the only distraction from that rule.
