Emz’s effective damage range is like Piper’s if she is too close you will only hit with the initial shot and miss the lingering damage. Since it seemed like the spray lingers at the outer half of Emz’s range she’ll want to keep the enemy at mid range. Her spray also disappears if it hits a wall, if the spray only lingered at the wall rather than disappearing she could unload her whole clip at a blocked brawler to burst them down without considering range. But since her spray disappears on walls, walls cuts her effective range.
