Wow. Seeing the comments on this vid really made me reflect how far we’ve come with marching band/drum corps traditions. And now look at us today! What a journey. I can’t wait to see what’s next in the next ten years

Hey! I'm a drum major for the LHS Georgia Bridgemen and we performed co-exhibition band when Tarpon had it's competition and these guys are phenomenal! I've even watched them practice this show, and it's still incredible! My favorite show that I've seen from them thus far! You guys rock!

If anything, this band ALWAYS sells the whole theme package with gusto, not to mention the musicality. It boggles my mind how the runs in shows of this quality are as clean as they are. And as hesitant I am about electronic drums, the arrangement worked surprisingly well (and in '08, especially).

i graduated form Tarpon in 1992 (wow that long ago!!!lol!!!) I wish we had a band like this one who got to do as much as travel as much as this one does, we sucked back then and we were ssssssoooooooooooooooooo much smaller!!! I was a clarinet player but I played other instruments including the mellophone during a couple marching seasons and I miss all the travel and performing. wish I still did it and I also wish I got into the dci stuff but I didnt now I regret it. these guys are so good now.

you guys were awesome as always, but you were over your heads with this show.

I totally agree... Even though I come from a traditional band (Lowndes High Georgia Brigemen) I've witnessed 1st hand how hard these guys have worked (becuase they've used our field to practice on the way to BOA competition) And I think it really pays off! The Geogia Bridgmen LOVES the Tarpon Springs Band and can't wait to see you guys this year! I can say that, cause I'm the DRUM MAJOR!!!

Blue Stars also used mixed meter movement really similar to the 2006 show (Every Passion Has Its Destiny)

Oh man, I remember this! Was this the year that one of the Baritone's tuning slides fell out during the performance?

But in all actually this was a really good show each time though. Tarpon Can really pull off shows that some bands won't dare to try cause of there difficulty. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see this years show. So far it looks awesome.

Yeah I know...I go to Tarpon. :p

that's a good one but I like how Tarpon uses and epic pit and a drum kit. Makes it sound unique in my opinion

Last year I sat through this show about 4 times with my band after the first It got boring and then at Atlanta I saw the finals performance and it wasn't as good as they were hyped up to be. Ps. Don't get mad I saw the clip of your guys opener this year and it looks way difficult -tubagirl TCR

where's their battery?
@G400martin15 жыл бұрын
they dont have one. technically, they are an outdoor performance ensemble that uses electronic drums in place for the most part. for that reason(as far as i know), they do not call themselves a marching band.

SAME DUDE. i have the drumset part haha. we dont have a battery

@goyanks99915 жыл бұрын
they don't have a battery. just a set player in the back... this might explain why a lot of people don't like tarpon; they don't have traditional marching band style or a battery, making it nearly impossible for phasing to occur.
@hereticjc16 жыл бұрын
They used the same ostinato.

except props are usually heavily criticized in corps shows, and for good reason. HS bands it's okay, but this is a bit much just let the show tell the story

Trey, we all know she is good but (and I mean no disrespect by this) she is not nearly good enough to even come close to Mr.Dykes. He is a professional player, and has A Ton more experience than Emily. Again I mean no disrespect,Emily is a fantastic player. You just can't compare a high school kid to a professional player, and a band director at that. Too big of a gap no matter how good you are.
