Download and playing JP version of this game and God this is refreshing especially being able to play with Male characters as I came from Honkai impact. after seeing so many terrible animes based on games and mobile games like azur lane and the only exception i know of so far being the world ends with you, i think kuro games has the best chance of turning that upside down and making a really good anime. i mean, they have a pretty good story, really good characters, famous japanese voice actors and this amazing animation and music to go with it. seriously, as an anime and art enthusiast, the shot composition, colors animation everything to even down to detail is so amazing. id say they probably have the best shot at making an amazing 24 episode sci fi, action post apocalyptical dystopian anime edit: i just found an anime that is chibi based with the beginning being really well animated and has the mandarin voice actors. seriously, i think they could make a really good 24 episode anime series if they partnered with studios like madhouse or bones. in fact mappa, deen or kyoto would be pretty damn good as well, just dont do a1, i have too much against it myself

Thing is, when you look at the chibi series, you'll find a ton of refrences to actual anime (yu gi oh, jojo etc.) , the PGR devs are actually weebs, so chances of an actual anime of the game might not even be that slim.

Character interactions are one of best parts of any story I’d really like to see Lucia finding reasons to avoid Karenina’s rematch challenges, Lee and Kamui’s banter in and out the battle field, Liv being best sister for all of Grey Ravens and its allies, the tension between Watanabe and Bianca, Nanami being a meme, Rosetta’s friendship with Derek, Roland being Sephiroth with dmc3 Dante as a first personality as well as a Luna simp, Alpha doing whatever she wants including (gaining more power, keeping pets, possibly collecting frog dolls and giving them to Luna, challenging those who are worthy opponents, working on her bike), Gabriel tolerating both of their behavior as well as being second but best butler of Luna, Luna being adorable little sister and destroyer god at the same time

The problem is The Commandant. Kuro ALWAYS put Commandant's gender and appearance as secret, and we don't have any other reference for The Commandant other than their Hands. (This is one of the main points, many people like this game. A faceless protagonist that is still important to the story, not just exist as a part of fanservice.) And their importance to the story can't just be scrapped to be non-existence like AL bad anime adaptation. Sure, we could use POV Anime (like One Room did) but that's still a hard thing to pull off.

Sadly though it focuses on Hassen's back story, along with a character named DOMINIK (the same as Commandant though, their gender and true appearance was never been revealed, but at least they have an Official design appearance wise. Unlike commandant where they only have their hands. I dunno, i actually liked it with How Kuro Handles Commandant in-Game. Part of the reason why i'm interested to PGR is because of The Commandant themselves. Despite being a self-insert, they are still important. YOU weren't just watching the characters journey, you actually a part of it. Also the reason why i quitted Honkai after only 20 hours play. Might as well scrapped Captain, since their purpose has no meaning.

I've never played the game or watched the animations until I came across this searching for Interesting Apocalypse games and this strangely showed up. I was expecting a apocalypse game like fallout but this combines that with cyberpunk basically which I find really cool But from the comments, I pieced a few things together one group is Gray Raven sent by some obviously twisted creatures in the guise of human beings and uh cyborgs abandoned by them because they thought they were failures or something I'll skip some of the moralities ideals and other stuff but the way I perceive this is that These abandoned Cyborgs represent Skill culminated through blood sweat and tears to refine godlike skills while these Gray Ravens rely on their superior equipment they don't need to learn the basics and start from the beginning it seems like they had the knowledge downloaded or something but these abandoned cyborgs didn't have that so they had to learn on their own. Never played the game or anything related to Punishing: Gray Raven so could anyone shed some light on this theory of mine a non-fan//nonplayer?

Ah, uhm... yes, this sounds like a very wild interpretation that is uhm... not very correct. All the characters seen in the video are "Constructs", humans whose consciousness has been digitalized and transferred into a cyborg-like body. This was done to fight the "Punishing Virus", a virus hell-bent on destroying any trace of human consciousness, that is capable of infecting both humans and machines and, under certain conditions, also Constructs even though they have a certain protection against the infection and are thus able to walk on the earth while the rest of humanity has withdrawn to "Babylonia", a space station and last bastion of humanity. The difference between "Gray Raven", a squad of Constructs sent from Babylonia, and the "Ascendants", the other four characters they are fighting against, is that the Ascendants are fully corrupted by the Punishing virus, but instead of turning into mindless creatures that under the influence of the virus continue to seek the destruction of all human consciousness, they actually CONTROL the Punishing virus and have harnessed its power. At this point in time, from the standpoint of the global release it is not entirely clear what the Ascendants' overarching goal is, but since Luna, the leader of the Ascendants was, as you said, abandoned by humans after her transfer into her Construct body originally failed, it is understandable that she is not exactly seeking to reconcile with humanity. Btw, if apocalyptic settings are your thing, especially with the whole moral aspect, definitely check out the game^^ I could go more into this because I really love the setting, but I don't just wanna dump all of that on you^^
