Here's a translation of the dialogue (even though it's a grand total of, like, three and a half lines): Painter: Whose secret do you want to know? Bai Qi: I have a forgotten (faded) memory. I want to finally know what the person in that memory looks like. State official to Ying Ji: Your majesty is the king, (you) should think of the world's people. I also translated the original creator's plot description (can be found in the top comment on bilibili). But before that I want to explain a bit about the characters in this. Here we have Bai Qi (白起), who was a real general, and Ying Ji (赢稷), full name King Qin Zhaoxiang (秦昭襄王), who was a real king. They lived at the same time and worked together but, unlike in this video, their real life end wasn't nice. They lived around 250 BC, which was during the warring states period, before the unification of China into an empire. The reason people ship these two is because they make a wonderful weilan derived pairing, as Zhu Yilong played Ying Ji in Legend of Miyue (芈月传) and Bai Yu played a character called Bai Qi in his most recent drama, Fairyland Lovers (蓬莱间). Technically, the Bai Qi in FL isn't the general, but the name, spelling and all, is the same. Plot: Bai Qi accidentally found an ancient book, telling the story of an important general and emperor's acquaintance (king but op wrote 皇帝). Bai Qi also always kept dreaming of a man but every time he couldn't see clearly and couldn't remember the other's appearance. Knowing he'd forgotten the memory, forgotten the important person, he looked for someone to draw his obsession with spiritual power. Having remembered his lover, (he realized) the story in the ancient book is actually his own story. Not long after Ying Ji and Bai Qi got married, war broke out in the country, and the state officials continuously chose Bai Qi to lead the battle. Bai Qi couldn't bear to make things difficult for Ying Ji and volunteered himself. At this stage the two lived far apart, relying on memories to pass the days. Ying Ji spent every day within the city walls longing for his people's return, (but) didn't (manage to) wait until the end. After Bai Qi learned that Ying Ji is critically ill he quickly rode back but didn't make it in time to see Ying Ji one last last time. After that, without death, without extinguishment, he lived on the Earth like a zombie. Now back to me explaining things: "Lives on the Earth like a zombie," I'm fairly certain, is meant in the same sense as the "spirits" in Fairyland Lovers. They are, basically, a kind of demon. They used to be human but then became obsessed with something and, thus, became immortal (until they let go of their obsession). In this case, Bai Qi's obsession is Ying Ji, specifically to see him again. And he does, right at the end of the video

Thanks for the translation! I think this plot is somewhat similar to Goblin, and the scene with the butterflies in the vid is from that drama too. "No death, no extinguishment, no godhood" I remember that line, it's sad just to think of it
