In the year 1984 and 85 this serial was telecasted in doordarshan. We were interestingly watching it. During diwali time in 1985 there were severe floods in tamilnadu and in chennai there was no powersupply for 4 days. I wonder we managed things inspite of floods and no current. This serial was a excellent middleclass bhramin familys lifestyle prevailing at that time. Aachi Manorama's acting no match for her high talent in any role given to her. Great video. Thank you.

I can't see Aachi here but only a typical Brahmin lady. Amazing performance. She just got into the skin of the character. What dialect what singing of Sanskrit slogams! There cannot be another Achi. She was unique and a chip of the old block. Sadly we don't have actors of her calibre today.

Komal Swaminathan is an excellent playwriter. No wonder he had sprinkled some of his profound knowledge in his plays. His Thanneer Thanneer Drama was phenomenal portraying the social issues and bureaucracy around water scarcity problem back in the day. Needless to say that it was later made as a movie by K.B. and won the award for best film.
