En Vogue was NOT playing with us during the 90's! Beautiful, talented, every member could hold their own weight as lead singer, harmonies always on point! ❤️ Suggestions: "My Loving (Never Gonna Get It)" "Hold On" "Don't Let Go" "Free Your Mind"

The song Something He Can Feel was originally created for the original Sparkle movie in 1976 and recorded by the iconic Aretha Franklin. The En Vogue version from 1992 continues to be THAT JAM and a cult classic today. The video pays homage to a scene in Sparkle. Sparkle (also a total cult classic) was also remade in 2012 staring Jordin Sparks, Whitney Houston, Tika Sumpter, Carmen Ejogo, Tamela Mann, Mike Epps, Derek Luke, etc. Both Sparkle films are inspired by the Supremes and that era of amazing, glamourous girl groups.

I love your shirt, because it takes me back. When I first met my husband, he sealed the deal when our eyes locked, time stopped, and he said "We're gonna make beautiful puppies." And it took a couple years, but we had a litter of three. Number one and his wife are about to have one of their own, number two is headed off to college, and number three is an open book ready to write her own story. My husband is sitting across the room, and he's not sure yet why I am smiling and blushing at him right now, but.....ok, gotta go!!!

Preferably the original 1970's version of the movie...with Irene Cara. It's a real tear-jerker. The 90's version with Whitney was just awful. Interesting sidenote - Aretha Franklin made an album of all the songs from the movie soundtrack, too.

This was from a Movie called Sparke and Aretha Franklin did "Her" Version in the 1970's and performed it on American Bandstand. They were once called The Supremes Of The MTV Generation. Another Girlband who played homage to them was the UK Girlband En Vogue when they sang their last Song together who were together from 2002-2013 where they also wore Red Sequined Dresses.

I appreciate all the 90s R&B you've been doing lately. These are the songs I listened to in high school and college. You really brought me back! One in particular you recently reacted to I had not heard in soooo many years...Black Men United - U Will Know. I must have listened to that song a million times back in the day. A recommendation - another similar song from the Panther soundtrack was like the female counterpart called Freedom (Various Artists). A lot of the ladies of hip hop and R&B you recently covered are on that track. I wore those two songs out in the 90s! You may want to check out Freedom. It's a great song. 😊

You should watch the original 1976 Sparkle movie that the song was written for on #billybinges. They took the look and some of the choreography from it. It's about 3 sisters forming a singing group in 1950's Harlem and stars Lonette McKee and Irene Cara. It has AMAZING music written for it by Curtis Mayfield, a talented cast, and a pretty good story. In addition one of the original cast members Dorian Harewood is one of the guys in the audience of this video.
