Hi Alfie, the engine code is C18XE but the tensioning procedure applies to all Opel engines that have this belt drive. But please follow the manufacturer's specifications carefully, especially the torques, because deviation is possible.

How did you lock the crankshaft belt pulley please? I've seen people stick a large screw driver in the flywheel and also turn the engine with a breaker bar on the socket to break the nut. Both methods I'm not a fan of?

With the engine on stand, there is a Kent Moore flywheel lock tool which is to be used.

Hi Simon, thanks for your question. The crankshaft should always be blocked to release the crankshaft belt pulley! This is best done with the tool KM 6625 shown in the video(see 2:19 to 2:39). Since not every workshop always has the necessary tool, emergency solutions are sought and therefore screwdrivers are sometimes used.

Hi Mehdi, no, it doesn't work with the Z18XER engine. For that you need our belt CT1077. In the video we show the belt drive of the C18XE engine and the belt CT870 .
