Enable os prober during Grub update. Fix "Warning: os-prober will not be executed".

Terminal commands:
uname -a
sudo os-prober
sudo update-grub
sudo gedit
/etc/default/grub file parameter:
GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER=false (exactly as written)

This vídeo IS very ussefull, but I want to ask, you don't need dissable the changes for security?

Greetings Raul. As I said in the video, if you enable OS prober, you will have a security issue that can be exploited. Should you choose to accept the risk, you can apply the changes. If you don't, just leave grub as it is. If it's possible, help the channel. Subscribe and hit the like button.

@@tuxhardware well in the case of my friend, he Accept the Risk and update the grub and after that he dissable the changes in the grub file. He Will have a security problem with that in the future?

@@raulhernandez930 Greetings and thank you for subscribing. In this case, no. The issue is when os prober mounts the partitions. But, when you update the Kernel, for example, Linux usually updates GRUB and generates a new grub.cfg file. Without OS prober, it will only have the entries of your current OS. So, backup grub.cfg file and add the entries manually after system update.

Debian 12, depois que houve uma atualização, ele tirou o dual boot com o windows 11.@@tuxhardware

@@colingueBR Então, muitas distros estão Habilitando o os prober apenas durante a instalação. Por isso, muitos usuários nem percebem. Mas quando ocorre atualizações que afetam o grub, o arquivo com as entradas costuma ser reescrito. E como o os prober está desabilitado, as entradas somem. Como tem muita gente que posterga ao máximo atualizações gerais do sistema, alguns nunca chegam a notar durante a vida útil do sistema. Lembrando que se houver alguma alteração significativa no GRUB, será necessário repetir o procedimento. Abraços.

Essa opção já aparece no grub.cfg bastando remover a *#* da frente para habilitar.

Acho q isso depende da distro. No racha q instalei a pouco tempo, o os prover não vinha desativado no grub 2.06.
