I spent eleven months in China. The racism towards Africans was on another level. As a white guy, I thought I might experience some discrimination. My African colleagues were denied entrance to a restaurant. We struggled to find accommodation. They were constantly undermined in the project we were involved in. I witnessed racism beyond what I had seen growing up in South Africa. If you speak to ordinary South Africans who have been there, they will understand. Especially our African brothers and sisters. The ANC and the EFF think China respects this country? Respects them? They laugh at how easily corruptible Africans can be. We had a fantastic translator, and we were based more in the non-touristy part of the country, but I've never seen anything like it. They aren't even right-wing; they just despise Africans. Damn, I have stories about the casinos, but these are the people our leaders drink 25-year-old whiskey with. Money is the great equalizer. If you're poor, you aren't in the club, and they have some very strange ways. The plane ride home was the best feeling for the three of us; I'll never forget kissing the OR Tambo floor. My personal experience - PLEASE NOTE - EVERYONE WILL HAVE THEIR OWN EXPERIENCE - but mine was an eye-opener, and I'll never go back there, and I'll never trust a politician who shakes hands with a country that has oppressed its people so badly sometimes I felt like they had lost their humanity. Anyway, hope you enjoyed my podcast :) TLDR: China is racist. Don't go there.

I worked in China as a teacher as well. It’s not hard at all to believe that something like this would happen. Africans are treated poorly as they aren’t valued as highly as everyone else. We are always the last ones to be included in things and are only there to fill in spots. I’d imagine, when she told them she wouldn’t renew her contract, she immediately lost any usefulness to them. I’ve seen a British white person ( who to Chinese people are the most valuable ) who had worked at a place for 10 years, not get so much as a thank you or goodbye after mentioning that they would resign. So it’s incredibly toxic, not just to the foreigners but to each other as well. They treat each other like numbers and statistics. Let’s not forget what they did to our brothers and sisters in Guangzhou during Covid lockdowns. Threw people out of their rented apartments. Those that were lucky were barricaded in their homes and couldn’t leave. I have friends that went through this and had to rely on their neighbours for basic amenities. This was just to the African blacks . Other nationalities were even helping people and protesting the injustice. So if their police can do that, they can for sure cover this up. I’m guessing they didn’t expect this woman to take this to the internet and it go viral. I’m sick of their shit.

It’s ironic how quick South Africans are to defend and fight xenophobia when it comes to other South Africans. But the second it’s no longer a South African citizen it’s no longer xenophobic. I hope you people keep this same energy when fighting for ur African brothers n sisters,Hypocrites.

South africans habe a problem with illegal immigrants & truth is mkst foreigners in South Africa are not there to do good. All the nasty & horrible things happening there have foreigners behind it.

Sorry to our lovely sister , to us South Africans this is how we treat our African brothers at times, i guess this should help us feel the pain of being treated otherwise.

Our sister is not there illegally and definitely not a criminal, your so called African brothers put their fellow Africans in the refugee camps in the bushes, they oppress each other on religious, ethnic and tribal preferences in their own countries idiot
