-In this AU Isabela on occasion, typically at night when she’s stressed, will probably toke a joint. Or something. I don’t know, she’s a plant lady. If not something to do with cannabis, girl drinks a lot of wine. Just like her tía Pepa, they will drink because they do not have the energy to put up with anything
* Isabela’s face dropping when being told she looks similar to her abuela
-Isabela had always had to live as abuela’s puppet, never being able to do anything she wanted and instead living how her abuela wanted. This is Isa realising that her abuela sees herself in her, and Isabela is stuck between continuing because she doesn’t want to break her abuela’s heart and stopping being perfect because she’s not happy
*Isabela freezing when she sees herself imperfect
-Self explanatory, she’s scared
*Dolores always thinking about Isa and being concerned
-I like to imagine the two cousins are close, due to them being close in age and also because they definitely had gossip sessions. Regardless, Dolores is the only person who knows about Isa and her cannabis, she knows Isa does it infrequently but she’s still worried that her cousin might get addicted. Scary. This is also why Dolores is really stressed when in the ‘Are you Satisfied’ song edit, when Marina goes like, “It’s my business if I feel the need to smoke and drink and sway” She’s so scared for her prima she doesn’t even realise that because it’s part of the song nobody else makes a connection between Isabela and the song. They think it’s just another sad edit lol
*Isabela’s fear after being called out, sexuality wise
-Internalised homophobia. Abuela made sure Isabela was taught and raised very traditionally, so Isabela’s mind is filled with bible verses, the reason why Mirabel, Camilo and Luisa are so unfazed is because they weren’t. Mira and Camilo don’t really care, not even in the slightest. Luisa is initially surprised but regardless isn’t too upset about Isa being gay. Dolores is concerned, because she knows that Isa in specific was the only grandchild, as Abuela’s ‘favourite,’ to be taught so religiously; Dolores has known this about Isa for a long time, whether or not Isa had accepted it. Dolores knew, and was worried because of how scared Isa is of abuela and anybody else finding out. Julieta is shocked, but mostly upset for her daughter, specifically because her daughter was dating Mariano. Why was she dating Mariano? If she really didn’t like boys, why was she dating him? That’s all Julieta was wondering, she wasn’t upset about Isa’s sexuality but merely hurt because her daughter was unhappy and forcing a relationship she didn’t want to be in. Pepa is surprised, at first, but she’s likes, eh mi sobrina is still perfect.

* “He wants five babies” reactions
- Isa: omg wtf
-Dolores: Feels bad she said it but thinks it was kind of funny
-Camilo + Mirabel: Confused about the audio because they though Isa liked Mariano, at first they thought she was startled because of ‘five babies’ but now they’re just confused
-Luisa: eyelashes, blank stare
