Wow, what a great resource! I just started playing EQ for the first time, and I love how little I know about the game. P99 is awesome, a real time machine. And being a noob at a 20+ year old game is actually a great feeling lol, but it's also good to get a few pointers at the start!

Right now get yer cha hat! Fabled snow bunny fur cap, or hat something like that. Found off the Uber Fabled Snow Bunny, Eastern Wastes just up the ramp from Kael zone line. I've seen it many times, it's an epic lvl2 mob but his hat is +30 cha... Respawns failry often, not sure time but I have it on 8 toons, get it now while Fableds are available!

You should look into the Opal encrusted Stein CHA: +25 MANA: +10 non-lore Main hand/off hand. You can duel wield them then replace some of your other gear with stuff that increases survivability with higher AC or HP or even +INT

are those in p99? i think they came later than velius. they aren't in the wiki and i've never seen one for sale.

@@RektYou Maybe p99 removed them? They were an original item, show up on the TLPs during classic era as well. I remember having 2 on my enchanter while killing corrupt Qeynos guards :) Sorry didn't realize they weren't on p99. Either way I'm enjoying the videos

I feel like they must have. I would have definitely grabbed 2 of these myself lol. From the reports I have seen, they would be dropping in Najena, but there is no sign of them any longer on the p99 Najena wiki page.

@@RektYou Any time. :) I don't dip into HS as much as I used to, but I still use HS West as my exp grounds when I need to get more buffer. Probably the best risk/reward at 60 as far as exp goes. South is great, but a bit too risky for my taste!

My thoughts too. North, entrance, basement, and even west are pretty cake for exp when you get them down. South I only venture when I'm feeling bored and looking for a challenge lol. Dying there can sometimes become an 8 hour recovery for us non-FDers haha.

You are making great content. Would love if you started an alt of different class just for some variety, but can't blame you wanting to get to 60. Also if you are going to continue to do quests please make videos of them! Some of the quests in EQ are great adventure/story and while will require some editing I think are great videos (see youtuber Flatts for perfect examples).

I got my enchanter to 17 since the Oggok video! I am going to start getting this gear, this is such a great guide, thanks again for another awesome video! I'm excited! Noob question - where should I level at 17? I'd go unrest but it's always camped/overcrowded now and I can rarely get a group

awesome! Even though Unrest is overcrowded, I think it's your best bet for fast experience. Try and get into a MR group if you can and while you wait solo or duo in the courtyard or around back. Theres always other choices for zones, but even if you solo right away in them, they never hold up to that amazing zone experience modifier Unrest provides. plus, you can get some drops there like the earrings and savant cap.

I have also found the getting AC has high as you can helps as well. Especially since you are doing a lot of face tanking.

Not sure why people forget about blackened crystalline robe that drops in crystal caverns. It's +5 cha plus +6 int. Just curious.

i remember looking that up back in those early lvls, but can't remember ever seeing it for sale in EC so never mentioned it. It seemed tough to come across or something. Can't remember exact reason, but Blackened Crystalline Robe woudl definitely do well.

@@RektYou It's lore which makes it harder to sell. I had 3 or 4 of them drop while I was leveling in CC and had to let them rot as I was already wearing one.

thanks a lot. i have plans to do a lot more videos for sure in the future with more classes and probably expand beyond just EQ too. This is the only char I play right now on p99 though other than a few low lvl twinks. As I get them leveled up and play them more, I will def do videos on them as well. I'm just liking recording as I play and when there's good content to talk about, it becomes a video lol.

I woulda picked Dark Elf instead of High Elf probably. Being able to break my charm without casting an invis spell, and wasting a gem slot because of it, isn't all that convenient xD

i like to min/max my characters. High elf is the best option for that. Hide also isn't as reliable as an invis cast to break charm. So, you'll lose a mob here and there because of it. Best option is GGR even as dark elf for highest experience rate. I can see the appeal for DEs on green though since that item doesn't drop yet. In the end, it really doesn't matter which race you choose. With the right gear, they can all be good. So play what you like. My shadow knights are always DE.

Yeah, it's definitely less reliable than I'd like. Just personally find it to be more worth it, since I wont have to spend mana on it. Used to have a high elf before that though, which was very enjoyable.

This is the DUXA UI. It works on blue but not green. I am on green exclusively these days. Been taking a break the past few weeks with Valheim adventures haha.

I have found that HE's Strength is lacking for carrying things. What have others done to offset this weakness? I was thinking of going 25 CHA and 5 STR?

why go over 200 cha? isnt there a soft cap to all skills at 200?

soft cap of 200, hard cap at 255. 200-240, i still saw crit resists on my lulls here and there. I dont' think i've had a crit resist on lull in a few days since getting over 240. after 255, its capped all the way though. so 200 is our initial goal, but the extra 55 still does help

@@RektYou whats u say is true, but i know many chanters that focus hp above all else. yes cha and int should be 200ish but on charm breaks low hp kills you quick especially when you start gearing charm pets to just wreak whatever it fights. charmed pets do highest dps in the game for some reason, once you start to take advantage of it, youll need more hp.

@@evan2212 i know our main enchanter in guild loved to charm a certain type of frogs in lguk because once he gave them 2 rusty daggers they'd start quad attacking, and if he knew the healer in grp was good enough, he's start casting haste on his pet too, our rogue felt like quitting the game. It's been almost 20 years, maybe it wasn't lguk, but i know the Enchanter blew our minds non stop. train of 12 mobs passing us ? np, locked em all down with 3 different AE stuns, one by one mezzing, shaman would slow the current target and we just melted a whole train down. EQ was so fantastic in many aspects...the mere fact you could kill a lvl 56mob, take his Sword of ass-whoping and trade it to a lvl 2 character which in turn became a demi-god wielding that high end weapon against newb mobs... No other game since then ever had this mechanic ! No binding to account or to character/attuning...you could use an item and once you outgrew it, just resell it ! Oh the great mmorpg times before Free to play and microtransactions....
