We're taking a look at Encodya, a 2.5D dystopian adventure featuring a young orphan Tina and her care robot S.A.M.-53, who I’ll refer to as Sam, living together on the streets of Neo-Berlin. The world is controlled by propaganda and a corrupted government, and Tina and Sam must carefully navigate through the many different locales in order to discover the truth behind Tina’s parentless childhood and maybe some larger truths about the world of Neo-Berlin.

Awesome review and I feel better knowing that I wasn't the only one who felt frustrated by some of the same shortcomings that you experienced. I also was held back by the problem with the wire in the alley for it wasn't an intuitive puzzle. I had also switched to easy mode which has the added feature of highlighting items you can interact with to try and solve this problem. However, instead of the inventory blocking the pliers that I needed it was Sam who blocked my view of them. Other than those minor quips, this is a fun game and the Neo Berlin setting reminds me of Stark from the Longest Journey game.

Hey Kristofer, thanks so much for checking out my review. It's such a cute and sweet game, just slightly flawed with some less-than-intuitive options like you mentioned, or unfortunate camera blocking. I can definitely see the comparison between Neo-Berlin and Stark! Once I found the extra pathways behind the inventory in Encodya, I really enjoyed exploring the city and talking to all the interesting NPCs. It's a well done cyberpunk atmosphere with a hand-drawn feel.

Thank you for another fantastic video, Cody! Slow point and click adventure games don't appeal to me that much so I won't be giving this one a shot... The story and setting seem pretty interesting, though.

point and click should have inventories in the lower third. Fate of Atlantis got it right 30 yrs ago

Agreed. I think the dev here chose to do a full bar due to the size of the inventory, but it does block some other crucial things.

Tried it for the humble bundle. I know i'm terrible with puzzle games so I picked easy. Wanted to play the story but man it was too frustrating for me. Guessing game, for me, most of the time.

Sounds like we had very similar experiences :/ Hopefully the development team can learn from their experience and community feedback, and make things a bit more intuitive in their next game.

@@IndieGamePulse I gave it a good 4 ~ 5 hours but couldn't stomach the frustration any longer. I hate not finishing games but this is one of those games for me. Watched a playthrough to at least know the story but even that was frustrating to watch.

Umm...did I just see Bernie Sanders..lol. Nice touch. This game does look interesting, hopefully they polish the game up some. If it comes to Switch, I may check it out. Great vid, thanks for the review.
