One is a young American woman who came to China to study international relations; the other is a young Chinese guy who has attended college in the United States. When Emily Conrad met Ai Tian, it was the start of a cross-cultural relationship in which a shared intellectual curiosity quickly blossomed into love. By examining their own personal interactions and seeing them in a wider context, the two young people are hoping to demonstrate how a commitment to mutual understanding can resolve international miscommunications and misperceptions. "Encounters with China - A Marriage Across Cultures" tells their story to help foster better understanding between their respective countries.

Wish this couple a blessing life and hope more bridges between the West and China link up in the future. The Chinese cultures and way of living life is just more interesting and fascinating than the West. Just food itself so diverse and nice. To cap it, Chinese virtue and value is invaluable. Their kids are gonna live in a world where their parents home countries are enemies. Personally i would suggest Chinese men look to women from friendlier less hostile countries. Not that I'm bashing they're love for each other but her kids are going to be bullied and looked at in a hostile manner.

That's the idea. If we keep ourselves hopelessly locked into our defacto "us vs. them" zero sum mentality, we will never get beyond our tribalistic insticts. There kids will have even more of an incentive to be all-inclusive. Globalism is not a dirty word. More power to them. Good luck!

国强外娶 国弱外嫁。

我周围中国女人嫁美国男人的比比皆是。我就不说了。我老婆是美国人、每次见了AMWF couple 都兴奋的赶快告诉我。所谓国强国弱。整体实力和人均所得还是很不一样的。毕竟美国人均是中国的6倍。而且我的感觉是美国女孩反而不在乎你的收入。最重要还是找对人。

@@Marvin-bz5qr 我还是觉得这是一个平均收入的问题。没有一个外国新娘结婚是因为中国总体国力的。她嫁的不是国家主席。跟整体实力没什么关系。人家看中的还是相对她来讲你的综合个人条件。中国国力增强了，对于中国人在外面的形象有一点改善，但是影响不大，尤其在西方国家。当然不排除那些花钱从穷国买新娘的，确实有越南或者印尼的就是相信中国人有钱被骗过去的。但是那种婚姻估计大部分国人也是除非逼得不得已了，没必要选择的。总结下来，结婚是个体行为，和国家实力关系甚微。

@@Marvin-bz5qr 外娶超过外嫁，只是说中国人平均收入从低于其他国家的平均水平进步到了高于平均。很多非洲人愿意嫁到中国的。这是一个非常低的标准。我很确定中国和美国之间，外娶远低于外嫁。要不也不会有这么一对美国老婆中国老公的上电视节目。美国遍地都是中国女嫁美国男的，从来不见因为这个上电视，然后采访中国女怎么学英文的。报道就是因为稀少。体现我们”逆袭”了一回。我们国力已经接近美国。如果是国力决定，那应该遍地都是中国男娶美国女才对。所以反过来也是证明了不是国力而是个人综合条件决定美国女嫁不嫁中国男。如果抱着国家强大了我就能在西方世界找到老婆，估计最终会很失望。但是如果不在乎国家实力如何，培养好自己的条件，反而可能成为潜力股。我身边的AMWF都是这样的。
