"On that day humanity received a grim reminder. We live in fear of Giant Carlos and his divine jazz." But seriously. This has been the most impressive, visionary, jubilant, expressive, marvelous and successful project I've ever consumed. Definitely a journey that warranted such a beautiful ending. The Year of Sinnoh has been a beacon of positivity during these dark times and Sinnohvation is probably the easiest purchase I've ever made.

As someone who got Red on his ninth birthday, Platinum is my forever favorite. It was cool enough that you'd made a few new arrangements here and there for it, but I was so excited when I learned you were doing the entire soundtrack, and it's been just about the only thing in 2020 that's been BETTER than I thought it'd be. You've already done such great things and I'm so excited to see where you'll go!

Gonna leave this here now cause I'm gonna forget when this premieres... Just wanted to again say how absolutely impressed and grateful I am for you making this album a reality. Gen 4, though not my favorite generation, is one that I hold incredibly close to my heart, as I'm sure is the same for a lot of people. And hearing such high quality jazz renditions of some of my favorite tracks from my childhood is so perfectly nostalgic. You've even impressed me with how you managed to make tracks I was other wise neutral on into tracks I absolutely love. Cannot thank you enough for making this album, it's been an insanely fun ride getting to this end, and I can't wait to see what you've got in store for the future. Now I mean if you wanna make a year of unova that'd be pretty cool ;)

I started playing FireRed one day during lockdown on emulator. I had no idea an entire world of Pokemon games, the main-series(Nintendo console ones), existed since there is almost no presence of Nintendo in my country. It was like reverse engineered nostalgia since I had only known the TV series. Yet I remember one particular incident, when I was 7 years old, I had little idea about video games, and had went to an older kid's house without informing my mother. There, they were playing some Pokemon game and I was fascinated by how fun video games could be. Now, 8 years later, I realise that that was FRLG.

I was 8 when I fell in love for the first time with a game. And that game was Pokemon Platinum. It was given as an Easter gift and I remember spending hours and hours playing it. I remember picking Turtwig only to restart to get Piplup because he had 2 attacking moves instead of a well rounded move set lmao. I remember wanting to call myself Dawn (as I chose the female trainer due to it looking better) but instead typing DOWN because I was 8, didn't have great spelling skills and didn't find out you could change capitilization until years later. I remember not knowing what a "balanced team" was when I constantly steamrolled every challenge with my Piplup, then Prinplup, then Empoleon (sorry Volkner but also get rekt lmao). I remember staying up past my bed time trying to explore the chateau and catch Rotom (and getting freaked out by the ghosts). I remember getting an egg from Riley and adoring the Riolu in it. It took no time for him to become a Lucario. I remember my Tropius and how many hm moves she carried for me to progress. I remember that sweet hall of fame music after a tough fight with Cynthia, an opponent only rivaled by a green trainer with a Blissey at the Survival Area. I remember tearing up at Ending theme, my favorite nostalgic song of any video game. I remember letting my eldest sister, who passed away recently, play for an afternoon around Snowpoint. I remember constantly pronouncing Drapion as Draporeon. I remember loosing the cartridge for over a year before finding it behind a chest with bed sheets and blankets in it, right against the wall. I remember coming back to this game every so often. I remember finding the friend safari after that hidden route. As well as learning through Chugga that yes, yes there is a way to get to that gods damn route after the sinnoh league. I remember when I got the certificate for seeing all pokemon after reading a book about Manaphy. I remember spending hours just mining in the underground. I remember catching Palkia in a nest ball at full health as a nod to my favorite let's player. I remember showing my mom tons of locations in the game while waiting somewhere I don't quite remember. I remember coming back at one of the worst times of my life and just sitting outside of the Pokemon League. I remember the people I found through this game and those who I grew to be better friends with. Most importantly, I remember how much I love this game and how big of an impact it had on me. I would not be the person I am today had I not played through this game. I would not have the same love of music. I may have not even been here at all. I owe a lot to this game, and that 8 year old growing up with it and ending up with 278+ hours and still counting. I still have the same game and same original save and same trainer OT. I'm currently building up a proper team with a Luxray and trying to catch all the roaming legends that I never got and surprisingly catching Rotom after all this time. Dear Carlos, thank you so much for being the one to continue and share my love and adoration for these games. There's no one else I would've wanted to see make a full sinnoh album other than you. You are truly the champion here. With all my heart, thank you. -MythicMysticMoon

I'm still unable to express the enormous fascination I have towards this album. Gen 4 was the first I played by myself, on my own Nintendo DS Lite, when I was 7 or 8 years old. Almost 13 years have passed and this album teleports me to those times; I'm full of nostalgia yet extremely happy when listening to it. Thank you so much for these pieces, and even more because of the ambiance you give them on your videos; I can see how full of joy you are when playing music, and that's even inspirational. This shines bright on these darks times.

Man, you really got me emotional with this one. This last year and a half was an amazing one for me, it had its ups and downs, but your videos were always the constant that would bright up my Saturday evenings. I played a lot of Diamond back in the day, it was my first videogame and I developed my passion for jazz with that game. With time, I eventually stopped playing Pokemon, but when I found your first cover of Route 216 I fell in love again with the game. From that moment, I always waited the end of the week to see what amazing cover you would have published this time, always wondering how you managed every time to surpass every kind of expectation that I was building up during the week. You are really an amazing musician and an amazing person, I hope you all the best and I thank you again for this amazing journey that you took us to.

Throughout the Year of Sinnoh I’ve seen many a comment echoing the sentiment that the Gen 4 Insaneintherainmusic covers should serve as the OST of the rumored Diamond and Pearl remakes. However, I disagree. As I’ve listened to them over this past year, I’ve realized that these arrangements would not be done justice if they were put into the position of serving as background music. What Carlos has done here is taken themes originally crafted for that purpose (serving as background music) and arranged them in such a way that they now function as a musical FEATURE; a piece of music that can exist entirely on its own and be enjoyed just the same. This is what I believe makes this VGM channel exceptional. Carlos has the arrangement skills necessary to effectively bring video game background themes to the foreground; to take a memory or an idea hidden in a digital environment and, quite literally, bring them to life through re-imagined renditions performed by real musicians. The majority of the Sinnohvation covers are more than just transcriptions of the original themes; they are individually expressive, unique arrangements. They serve not to highlight any in-game location or event but rather to highlight the MUSIC ITSELF, and this album goes above and beyond at achieving that. Thank you for an awesome year of awesome covers from an awesome soundtrack! I also have to say that I’m really enjoying your utilization of green screen gimmicks in your videos here lately. Watching this Year of Sinnoh project unfold had really been such a fun ride, and I can’t thank you enough for sharing it with us all! That montage of all the videos from this past year was so nostalgic (this time not for Pokemon but rather for Insaneintherainmusic) and was the perfect send-off to go along with this beautiful ending theme! Whatever projects you have planned for the future, I wish you the very best!

Pokemon has always been one of those things that's bittersweet...the game has a sense of no worries and you feel like you can take on the world and you just want to surround yourself with all the happy and carefree moments within in the game, but it's sad when it all has to come to an end. To the many memories and nostalgia this generation of pokemon has given us

Man, what a ride. This really took me back to 5th Grade when I first played Diamond. So many memories packed in that one game and you made me relive them. For that, I'm hyper grateful. Now, we wait for the remakes. I'll see you all in Sinnoh.

I joined in all the competence of Sinnoh late, but I been blown away the Jazz that Carlos and the other musicians he'd collab with. And this has only made my love for Jazz grow even more. 😀

Carlos, I know I don’t know you irl, but it feels great to see people share enthusiasm for things that made my childhood. You introduced me to the concept of jazz being used modernly, and your covers have always been amazing, but this year in particular it felt extra special that you still put your soul into this project even when the world was getting turned upside down. Thank you for a wonderful year of Sinnoh.

God I just wish I could experience the Gen 4 Pokémon games again. I don’t think I was ever happier than when I was exploring Sinnoh in Diamond or Johto in Soul Silver. God man, good on you for making all these, I’m in tears.

The end to the longest yet shortest year ever... from legends finishing uploads (Khoranime you will be missed) from this legendary soundtrack being turned not to gold... but to platinum in your hands... this years been pragmatic yet serene, but as one chapter ends... another begins! Whatever you make next after you take a break (I hope, you’ve done a ton of work and I have no qualms with you taking a long break) if you do, we will listen and cheer! Keep up the amazing work man!

Just when I think that you've blown me away and reached peak Carlos, you ascend even higher (to Mt.Coronet?)! Year of Sinnoh has consistently left me in awe and I'm so proud of the time, skill and effort that went into this from yourself and all of your collaborators! This year has been a toughy, so thank you for giving me something to look forward nearly every week and inspiring me to create and thrive to do better! Raise a poffin and toast to the future of this channel and the next projects that will inevitably grow to trump this one! Don't forget to take a break once and awhile though. Rain on, man. Much love.

Carlos, I honestly think the year of Sinnoh is your best work yet. Each of the covers had something incredibly exciting and unique about them and I always looked forward to reading about the influences you used to make the cover. This may sound rich coming from a random youtube fan but I feel like you've really 'evolved' (pun intended) as a composer and arranger through the year of Sinnoh and I'm sad to see the year end. Great work!

I remember asking like a year or two ago why a certain sinnoh route remix wasn't up on spotify, and you replied that you would do a sinnoh album later on. Little did i know how massive of a project that album would be! This was a great year+ of sinnoh jams, tyvm for showing the best gen so much love with all your talent!

This has been one hell of a year (the year of Sinnoh I mean). I’m so glad that you decided to do this project, because it’s been really fun to listen to them all. You and every one you worked on in this project put their heart and soul into this project, and every track was amazing, including this one. Sinnoh will always hold a special place in my heart as Pearl was my first Pokémon game and one of my first video games. So hearing all of these arrangements was not only nostalgic for me, but seeing how much love and care you put into every single one of these videos was fantastic. Every costume and funny skit and thumbnail always puts a smile on my face. So thank you, Carlos, for using your space and spending your time to make an album that’s been a source of joy for many in a very weird and distorted time. It’s been a blast to be on this journey with everyone and I hope you, everyone who helped worked on this, and everyone who was also here listening along has a great rest of the year and a fantastic year next year. Who knows, maybe next year will take us back to Sinnoh. But this will always be remembered as the time we all went back to Sinnoh, remembered the classics, had a laugh, and listened all that sweet, sweet jazz.

guess it's customary to leave a long comment after an emotional, but melancholic video huh ? let me be honest, i really don't know what, or even how to explain how much this collection of songs means to me the almost,, euphoric joy that i felt, when you first announced that you'd be doing this is still so vividly fresh in my mind,, it absolutely made my year !! like many others, sinnoh was my first pokemon game, and the fleeting feeling of playing it for the first time is something i treasure so, so dearly. Playing Sinnoh as a child has solidified a great number of my likes and interests I have now,, and i'm forever greatful that i played it first. and while I can't specifically say i'm old enough to have a pokemon "seniors discount", i can without a doubt say that over the years, sinnoh, or even pokemon in general, has become a comfort series of mine. Even amidst the pandemic, amidst all of the historic events that happened during 2020, your videos became a sustaining pillar to me. They gave me something to escape to, and I'm sure it was the same for many others as well. Every video that you rolled out was so,, nice ???? (you can tell i'm running out of words ahahh) Each and every song you covered was a pleasure to watch, listen and just vibe to. You managed to capture the essence, and the atmosphere of the songs, while adding your own colour and flavour to it, creating this new work that was reminiscent, but also different to the original !! i have so many thoughts bouncing around in my head right now ahah,, i know i'm kinda an incomphrehendable mess but, I really hope you know that these songs mean a lot to me, and i cannot begin imagine how much they must mean to you. thank you, so, so much.

I forget when I learned you were doing a complete soundtrack, but your Eterna Forest cover came out about 4 years ago it was one of my favorite songs and I played it so much. I'm so happy to see this project come to an end, despite that this means that the great ride is over. Thanks for bringing back the memories

I remember when i finished pokemon diamond, my best friend was visiting me on a sleepover and we finished the pokemon league in the very morning when the sun began to raise up, we just sat on my window and listened to the ending theme while watching the sun, since then i always feel so nostalgic when i hear the pokemon ending theme

You've brought me back to one of the very few happy memories and moments from my long lost childhood, I haven't felt nostalgic in a long time as there weren't many happy moments in my childhood but this... this is just perfect. I don't lie when I say out loud that you're some kind of extraordinary wizard, not many can do something as wonderful as you had, I want to thank you for that.

You can't just hit me with that smile at the end. I'M NOT CRYING YOU ARE! Thank you for all the energy you've poured into your work. I first discovered you through your Coconut Mall cover and have been hooked ever since. The Year of Sinnoh has been something to look forward to in what has easily been the most difficult time in my life. Long ago I used to be a Band kid who enjoyed mimicking my favorite game soundtracks. Somewhere along the way I got discouraged and stopped playing. I don't know if I will ever pick up a brass instrument again, but this year you've given me a whole new definition of what's possible. Words can't describe the happiness I feel when listening to your music. Thanks once again for sparking something that's allowed me to dream again.

First off, congratulations on finishing this project. The amount of effort, love , time and care that has went into this has not gone unnoticed, Carlos. Thank you so much. You have made me, and thousands of others, smile this year even when times seemed to be at their worst. Whether I was head pumping to the Cyrus metric modulation, jamming out to the Mt. Coronet theme, or nearly crying at the Eterna Forest or Twinleaf themes, you have absolutely made this year noticeably better. Every week, I would get so excited for the Saturday upload and I knew you would put a smile on my face each time. So again, thank you so much for what you do, Carlos. I cannot wait for what is in store for 2021 :) Cheers to the successful Year of Sinnoh!
