End Crystals Are No Longer OP..

For half of Minecraft's history, end crystals had several overpowered uses, but eventually Mojang and the Minecraft team got around to patching them, leaving End crystals with one use..

You can also anchor behind the shield, break it temporarily with an axe, or even just break it via durability loss. An end crystal does the same amount of damage as a charged creeper. Furthermore, they were still counterable with fast toteming. As long as you are out in the open you can usually escape if you really want to.

this is the difference between prescriptivism and descriptivism. Prescriptively their purpose is to resummon the dragon. Descriptively their purpose is for PVP because that's what they're actually primarily used for.

End crystals are still mega useful in PVP they’re just not so broken anymore. And end crystals can also be used for ancient debris mining but granted virtually every other method is better.

Yeah... that's not exactly true... You can easily disable shields, and u can still kill unprepared players with them. Also, there's the unbreakable end crystal glitch, super OP for some builds, not sure if it's been patched though.

most pvp servers are exclusive for each major pvp change type updates. 1.20 being shields able to block explosives, 1.16 adding netherite, 1.11 adding totems, 1.9 adding hit cooldown, and the 1.8 spam clicking. They will most likely make another pvp server centered to 1.20

The shields break very quickly and you can place anchors behind your opponent. So shields are rarely used and crystal is unchanged.

Shields provide temporary safety from crystals but in the end they drain exp needed to mend your armor and also it eventually breaks after a crystaling the shield for a bit. Also shield disabling is easy to do.

This doesn’t make them useless, they can still be spammed on obsidian faster than an opponent can raise their shield again so it’s still significantly disadvantageous to hold a shield in your offhand instead of a totem (and they’d quickly break shields and armor, dealing so much damage you need prot3 neth to even survive one explosion of them). They’ll still be anarchy players’ weapons of choice

Wait, but most players may have known about blocking creeper explosions and other mob explosions, with the exception of TNT, [Intentional Game Design] explosions, and End Crystal. I do not know if Mojang had forgotten to add the ability to block any explosions to anything that does explode, or... I cannot entirely say that my memory is terrible, but my mind has been bugging me real bad today, because I can block explosions. The only ones you could not block were the ones that are already listed here, and the wither. Am I wrong at myself the whole 10 years of playing Minecraft since 1.5 Update?

Actually, it isn't true that shields make a player invincible to explosions, but rather it takes away some durability from the shield depending on the damage it deals. In a way, you could actually spam end crystal explosions to kill the other player.

i actually liked this update to cpvp more. Everything needs more skils. More than just spamming crystal and dtapping can make the opponent fly high into the sky. Encountering shields by anchor and knockback change makes opponent harder to escape ledges and dtap chain. Everything will have to be done faster so imo it needs more skills to master this new cppv update

They should make it when you place end crystals you buff the dragon to make it stronger. More crystals = more powerfull = more xp and loot. If you place the crystals in certain ways the ultima dragon will spawn to reign havoc.
