BankNifty weekly expiries are no longer in effect. NSE has chosen to continue with a weekly expiry for Nifty, while BSE will move forward with Sensex. Both exchanges were instructed to maintain a single weekly expiration each, and they have made this decision.
In the past two to three years, weekly expiries have made the Indian stock market extremely speculative in the eyes of regular traders.
Sensex50, Bankex, BankNifty, Midcap Nifty, Finnifty, Sensex, Nifty, and similar ones were just a few of the numerous ones.
Daily expiries were a risk for retail trades. In other words, you had an option contract that was about to expire on any given day of the week when you woke up. It is unhealthy by all measures. It's true that there's a lot of incentive to speculate here, as evidenced by the fact that 91% of option trades had a net loss at year's end.
We cover the entire expiration industry in this video, including its origins and current state. What part did SEBI play in the initial introduction of these contracts, and how is this decision being made?

Bro, I trade in Sensex 0 DTE with 2 Cr capital. Its very liquid, understand some slippage might be there, But I normally do different TBS with 10 lots each. It has been a saver for me in this FY. SEBI ko malum hain ki kuch bhi kar le retailer indices mein khelna band nahi karenge. Ab monthly expiry ho jaane se retailers aur bhi jayada loss khaayenge. Ek to lot size double upar se monthly expiry jo surely premiums ko mehnga banaayegi. Ek dam se exchanges ko sirf seller beneficial banaya jaa raha hain aur kuch bhi nahi.
