We use The Real Decoy shaker style decoy for motion. Runs on 1 D battery and we can use it for something like 30 hours before changing the battery. Very convenient and adds great motion.

I love the Lifetime/Heyday decoys. The only downside for me is they fill with water when you are dragging them through the river, especially upstream. I love how light, durable and quiet they are. They move very well with just a little current too. I use the Lifetime do it yourself Texas rigs on all of my rigs. I started mixing in some black duck decoys in my mallards based on advice from Joel and a friend. If you can find anywhere that still has Lifetime branded decoys, you can get a good sale on them...Like Rogers does right now. I use Lucky Duck spinners and the Mojo backpack (49.99) for them. I get 4 spinners, wings, pole bases and spare parts per bag.

I'm right there with you Joel. I've tried and will just about always try a new motion decoy that hits the market. With that being said over the years I have purchased and tossed a bunch of them away. The most dependable, most reliable, easiest to use is the Higdon Pulsator. By far the best water motion decoy we have at our club. The battery will last all weekend and hardly ever gives us an issue!

Second on this, they're fairly cheap, and look decent, but I have questions about the durability considering that some of their promo photos have clearly rubbed off paint in them.
@brendonsmith88373 жыл бұрын
@@fenrirunshackled4319 yeah but they’re also very transparent with their ads, they could’ve been abusing the hell out of them all year or they could’ve just been worn off quick but who knows

Great video! Thanks for the info. Those Atlas gloves look great. I use insulated rubber ones in late season and the restriction in dexterity is tough to deal with sometimes. I’d use them all season for the dexterity. Those would be great in early teal, we hunt some stinky water haha
@tylerlower51403 жыл бұрын
Avian x for almost all my duck floaters. Tanglefree was the only cinnamon teal floater I could find though. Avian x decoys are super heavy. For hike in spots I get cheap decoys, cut both ends of the keel open and get rid of the sand inside. I tried Texas rigs for a couple years and went back to keel grabbers. I also use slotted bags for most of my decoys. I mostly hunt the river and the current give my decoys plenty of movement.
@jeremybreeden773 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info Joel. I've been using mostly avian-x decoys the last few years because of the realistic design. The only complaints I have is it's difficult to attach a texas rig to the keel because the hole is small and in an odd spot. They are also the heaviest decoy I've used, so long walk in hunts limits the amount you want to take. A jerk rig is the most common motion decoy I use.

I bought a dozen of the lifetime decoys this year. I really like them because of the weight. Really liked the last 2 videos.
