Busy here in Scotland. Shot a good amount and currently doing a full kit check list of what needs to go and what meeds improved. Plenty of KUIU gear to order as well as finally setting up my 6.5 PRC. thermal rifle set up for deer as well, hopefully earn the cost of the scope back in the winter with the amount it shall cull. Good to hear you are doing good numbers down in England. Think those fallow herds need knocked down a peg.

75 this year, mostly fallow. Need to up the doe numbers next year and hopefully bring up total to over 100. Changed from Hornady ECX 125gr in 308 to barnes TTSX 130gr. Both work well but the BC of the Barnes helps a bit. Change of thermal spotter mid season a game changer. Having night shot on lamp will be entering next season on NV, and out of season and night approvals in place already. Looking forward to a new chassis stock for the Tikka too.

Nicely done!

What velocity are you getting from the fox 130 vs fox 150gr
@TheDeercastАй бұрын
831m/s with the 150gr and 911m/s with the 130gr.

@@TheDeercast that is decent. I sent a professional hunter acquaintance of mine in South Africa a 100 Fox bullets to test on plains game. He loaded the 150gr to 2900fps in his 30-06. He was very happy with their performance on game species as big as black wildebeest at distances far extending what I will be comfortable to shoot at. He shot one at 390m. Along with our experience it seems like they are a great EU alternative for when Barnes and Hornady lead free are not available.

I’m thinking of going copper with the 308 but assumed 150gn would be too slow to expand. Obviously you are pushing them pretty hard but What V do you need to get full expansion?

@@grallochervideos not pushing the 150gr that hard - see the other comments for exact velocity!

About to change to the Fox 150's and looking forward to the results. The 130's worked well on N135 but probably too fast and that didn't help with carcass damage. Paul@testvalleyvenison

Paul Hill (Corinium) suggested we changed to 150gr’s and I’ve not looked back!
