Alternative title for the video: Lumonts Obituary. If the rewards for extreme deficit pushing is so meager then there's no point in building heroes who's only niche is pushing afk stages. Still not complaining because the base rewards are pretty solid and obtainable for the average player.

But having the extra levels in the early days of the season is extremely important for your DR placements so you could be losing leaderboard placements from not using instant afk :/

I think it was horrible, they tell us rewards first and it was horrible! So then everyone complained and they instantly fixed it within hours… like they already had it planned bc they knew it sucked. They try to get away with giving us nothing as much as possible! Us big spenders in the top 20 should get more. I would say top 20, top 50, 100 should all get more rewards. At least 275 yellow temporal essence to max a hero! More stargaze like come on!

Yeah, this may have all been orchestrated. I am not really sure what there was to gain by doing this though. I agree with you 100%, stellar crystals would have been nice. The difference in rewards between high rankers and everyone else is almost negligible. I anticipate that the spending behavior of whales will change after this 🐳

Spent like 80 bucks or so on this game, those being the base growth bundle, season growth bundle and 3 classic gazettes. My rewards so far came out to 90 letters, 120 temporal essence, 1 glorious hero chest, 1455 diamonds, 72 twilight essence. Pretty good, I guess.

well yes instant afk isnt worth it for rewards but it does push you overall reso lv that is something being neglected if you don't. SO yes and no.I'm sitting at +113 atm i havent missed a day

Good point! The ones topping the dream realm tend to be the ones who instant refresh, but it is tough to make direct correlations. I have been max refreshing from the beginning and holding the leaderboards.

Idk what the opportunity cost is of being lower on the leaderboards but if you’re already a power account anyway saving the diamonds is probably the move. I’ll see what my experience change is next season vs regularly top 50 this season

I wish I had delved deeper into the opportunity cost of dropping in leaderboards, but there are a lot of intangibles that are difficult to quantify, so I left it unexplored. Like you say, we will see.

Here's a question for the new season: is it worth to buy instant afk rewards in the early game? I was buying them till I hit soft level cap in the Dream Realm. I think this strategy makes sense, but your calculation looks really grim. As a side note, by hitting top 50 in DR we're getting 4 yellow essence per day (2 from server, 2 from district). So in this case 120 essence is equivalent of one month. Still very nice, it will finally give me a motivation to +15 someone. And yes, f2p players are getting red essence, and it's piling, cause we can't use it, cause getting from +10 to +15 is too expensive.

Ooo, interesting question. I would imagine that buying instant afk rewards in the beginning would be worth it until we hit the soft level cap for dream realm. Also, thanks for clarifying the exact top 50 rewards. Good to know that too 50 dream realm still get decent rewards.

You probably will not. However, you will be able to play song of strife in a separate mode, acquiring some of the rewards I got, albeit in tapered bite-sized pieces.

is it stated that the diamonds are for 10k+ ? or they just decided to put it in the last column because there is no cap to them and the essences compared to the fix rewards on the right for each milestone. in that case you get more diamonds but i might be wrong.

Yes, the diamonds will be for those above 10k+, which will be almost everyone who has played song of strife any reasonable length of time.

This is just another way the devs are helping the F2P/low spenders. The whales, and afk/tower pushers are gonna be mad, but personally, I'm fine with it. I realize that's a hot take, but it's just how I feel.

I totally get you Kevin. The amount of diamonds I spent on instant AFK could have gone towards the next rate up hero or a few more paragons. But well, that was the risk I took speculating over the unknown.
