@@SirLionofBiff - Con and the crew do such a great job picking tunes, I'd be reluctant to suggest anything. But, yeah, Nylons, Supremes, Huey Lewis, Crosby Stills & Nash - but they could also take a pop, accompanied tune and do their own a capella arrangement ("Uptown Funk"?). That would open up tons of possibilities. Con and his band are excellent in the way they arrange, and their engineering team is as good as any other anywhere in the world. Imagine a concert starting with an a capella piece passing the verse from singer to singer in order to introduce them and ramp up the energy (such as Huey Lewis' "It's Alright"), transitioning to an accompanied piece introducing the instruments and their musicians - I don't know. Like I say, I don't think I'm the best one to suggest anything - they do a great job on their own ("If it aint broke, don't fix it.") But I DO believe that an a capella element or tune inserted somewhere in their catalog would be a fabulous thing, and would do a great job of illustrating just how talented the regular and guest vocalists are in this group. This particular tune, "End of the Road" just reinforces my belief.

Start it out a capella to open a show, or a set, then bring in Con and his bass with Brad on drums, bring in the horn section 8 bars later, bring in guitar(s), then keys 8 bars later, etc. Get the audience on their feet. That's the general idea. I think the house would rock!
