Futurists think Antichrist is a single, solitary, individual human being yet to come. Preterists think Antichrist was a single, solitary, individual human being that existed in the past. Yet, Scripture teaches that Antichrist is a "sea beast," which, according to Daniel (7:3) a "beast which rises out of the sea" is an EMPIRE! Please don't fall for the Futurist nonsense of Joel and Dalton; they are just as much false teachers of Bible prophecy as any other Futurist; thus, they don't know what they're talking about when they speak on Bible prophecy. In my Hebrew Bible set in the book of prophets the commentary recalls Genesis 1 the creation to Ezekiel 20 , which are s a beautiful way to look at it. Also Linking Gog with the cosmic upheavals at the end of days. Even though this set of Hebrew bibles does not agree with end time prophecy as we do, it still a very important learning tool for me to get a peek into the views of the Hebrew commentary.

Another reason to truly question the idea that Gog is the Antichrist is that Gog is called a Chief Prince more than once in Ezekiel 38 and we see that Michael is also called a Chief Prince in scripture as well. Is it possible Gog is a fallen angel? It is possible Gog is the Chief Prince of Tubal, etc. meaning he is the spirit being that is running the show in those regions? It could make sense since Gog is around for what appears to be 1000's of years in scripture.

While I can see that this makes sense, is Armageddon different than Ezek 39? Gog is given a burial place in Israel (Ezek 39:11) but the AntiChrist is thrown alive into the firey lake of burning sulfur (Rev 19:20)

In Ezekiel the concerned nations invade to plunder the resources, whereas the intention at Armageddon is to wipe Israel out entirely. Another difference is that in Ezek. a limited number of nations are involved, but at Armageddon ALL the nations gather around Israel

Ezekiel mentions the battle of Gog and Magog and its never mentioned again until the end of the Thousand Year Reign, near word for word. The battle of Armageddon doesn't take place until the end of the Tribulation period, so any major war going on right before the start of the Tribulation period is not mentioned by any name in Scripture.

There are many similarities between these two characters and these two battles. I just have a few questions. If Gog is the Antichrist shouldn’t he be cast alive into the lake of fire along with the false prophet at the end of the battle of Armageddon? Yet Ezekiel 39:11 says that Gog is buried in Israel. Also, Gog seems to be coming against Israel in Ezekiel 39 while the Antichrist has already ruled over Israel for 42 months before the battle of Armageddon even begins. And the Antichrist seems to be gathering his forces along with the armies of the other nations to battle Jesus and his followers, not Israel. Any thoughts?

I can see the duality of Ezekiel 38 and Revelation 20:7-8. Remember, Israel, on the morning of being invaded by gog from his land in the north, Israel will be surrounded on ALL SIDES, then the first day of the second half of the seven year period Israel is invaded, by gog of Magog. So it is in Revelation 20:7-8 the same scenario is played out, once again Israel is surrounded on ALL SIDES, and the saying. "Gog of Magog is made once again, almost like a "remember" statement for us to recall this has happened before, the one constant is Satan, Satan is there on BOTH, the first invasion, and the second attempted invasion, even though the first "Gog of Magog" (in the flesh) is already in the lake of fire. So the dual reference of Gog of Magog is played out twice, the second attempt after the 1,000 years is a reference to the first invasion as a sort of a memory jogger, Israel is once again surrounded on ALL SIDES, just like from the first invasion, a simple duality reference, and @sustained by his love said this in his response also.

I am learning a lot from you brothers. I was first called to faith mostly through a PCA church back in 1980. I started putting Scripture texts to music. I then attended Westminster Choir College in Princeton. Ugh, the spirit of that town. I ask you all to pray for me. I have had a rough career and the enemy has sidelined and shamed me. I'm not sure how to proceed. Please consider my appeal to get Christians singing the Psalms. Just one of those ways is Metrical Psalm singing, in which the text is paraphrased to fit into a repeated melody that people can pick up pretty quickly. Some of you know the Metrical Psalm singing tradition of the Reformed Church. They have held an 'amillennial' position traditionally, but look folks, they have been singing the Psalms for centuries! Well, this idea of singing the Psalms I would promote, because this very thing will prepare people for the coming days, but the devil has sidelined me. If you read Mathew 24 I feel its manifestly clear or plain that the rapture occurs immediately AFTER the tribulation of those days. Those days are Great Tribulation. Read different translations and especially if you can in Hebrew.

Re the timing of the invasion of Israel by Gog. We read in verses 10-11 & 14-16 of Ch 38 that it will be when Israel's villages are un-walled and Israel will be living in please and safety. Question. When will this be? Because it's not now. So we have to be looking for this as a starting point, that Israel is going to be at peace, safety and with un-walled villages.

@FAISTUDIOS I know I am 2yrs late on this but I have to mention 1 thing that you have missed Joel. In Ezekiel 39:11 it says Gog will be buried in the Valley of Travelers east of the Dead Sea. In Revelation 19:20 it says that the Antichrist will be thrown ALIVE into the lake of fire and burning sulfur with the false prophet. Gog is exactly who the Bible says that he is in Ezekiel 38:2 a prince who rules over nations. Isn't it more plausible that Gog is a prince appointed by Satan or the Antichrist to rule over his nation of armies just like Christ would appoint his royal priesthood to rule over nations in Luke 19:15-27? Or Rev 19 is literal where the soul of the Antichrist is immediately thrown into the lake of fire and Ezekiel is describing his flesh being buried for the second death? The Idea that the Gog and Magog Invasion will occur before the Seventieth Week, or before the Abomination of Desolation makes absolutely no sense at all when one reads the verses you have presented on this video. But about Gog being the Antichrist I have not been able to be as sure as you are. Your arguments are really good, and for those same reasons I have thought that Gog might be the Beast of Revelation. (Revelation 20:7-9) So while it is clear that both Revelation and Ezekiel do indeed use the same terms to describe an event that shares some commonalities, (they both describe an attempted attack on God’s people), there are also some very clear distinction between both prophecies. The invasion described in Ezekiel 38-39, on the other hand is described as anything but a failure. In my opinion, by the time of the writing of the Book of Revelation in the 1st century, the term Gog and Magog had become a well-known motif, similar to the common use of “armageddon” or “apocalypse” today. We might say for example something like, “It was a financial armageddon on Wall Street today.” This has nothing to do however, with the valley of Meggiddo in Israel. Such an expression simply points to nearly any great catastrophe. Because Ezekiel 38 and 39 was essentially the greatest prophetic passage in the Old Testament concerning the final Satanic invasion of Israel, it was what we may very rightly call, “the Armageddon of the Old Testament.” The phrase “Gog and Magog” simply came to be understood as a massive Satanic-led invasion or attack of God’s people in Jerusalem. So the Gog and Magog motif simply points to any massive effort by Satan to gather his hordes and attack to Israel. The Gog and Magog of Ezekiel 38-39 and the Gog and Magog of Revelation 20 however, cannot be one and the same. Not only are they clearly separated by a thousand years, but as we already highlighted, their respective attacks have drastically different results. One is utterly successful, the other is an abysmal failure. While Ezekiel is referring to the Antichrist and the events that take place just prior to the Millennium, Revelation 20:7-9 is exactly what it says it is; a very brief event that takes place at the conclusion of the Millennium, one final effort by Satan to do what he had already failed to do just before being chained and cast into the abyss for a thousand years.

Notice that Gog plans on attacking a people who are described as “unsuspecting”: You will say, I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people all of them living without walls and without gates and bars. (Ezekiel 38:12, 13) I believe the issue of Israel living “securely” is merely a perceived sense of security. Consider the fact that the Israelites are about to be invaded. So are they truly living securely or merely living with a relative sense of security? If a person is sleeping securely in their bed and seven murderous and well-armed thieves are only moments away from breaking into the house to rob and kill, can it truly be said that the unsuspecting person sleeping is secure? Or it is merely a perceived security? Such is the precisely the case with Israel in Ezekiel’s prophecy. I would also argue that while the Israel of today fully recognizes that various threats surround them, they are not presently suspecting any massive military invasion from a foreign nation. The sense in Israel is one of relative security. It is difficult not to see Ezekiel’sdescription of Israel as anything other than the Israel of today: “After many days you will be summoned; in the latter years you will come into the land that is restored from the sword, whose inhabitants have been gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel which had been a continual waste; but its people were brought out from the nations, and they are living securely, all of them.” (Ezekiel 38:8) The Israel that Ezekiel describes is a people who have been gathered from many nations. They resettled the land which had formerly been a continual waste. And they are living securely. Now consider the fact that the Scriptures inform us that the Antichrist will lull Israel into a false state of security through deception,specifically for the purpose of invading the land: He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself superior. When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power. (Daniel 8:25) He will invade the kingdom when its people feel secure, and he will seize it through intrigue. (Daniel 11:21) When the richest provinces feel secure, he will invade them and will achieve what neither his fathers nor his forefathers did. He will distribute plunder, loot and wealth among his followers. He will plot the overthrow of fortresses-but only for a time. (Daniel 11:24) So we have seen that the method and scheme of the Antichrist is exactly that of Gog. When the people feel secure, then he will invade them. This is simply because they are simply one and the same individual.

Joel, you don't understand what is being referred to in Ezekiel 39 about God's name no longer being profaned. There is a background to the meaning, based on Israel being exiled into the nations, beginning in the days when they had gotten into idol worship. In Ezekiel 36, God's name was profaned - in the text - when Israel was exiled into the nations - because it made it look like God was unable to defend them against their enemies. In Ezekiel 39, in the end times, God shows that He is able to defend Israel against all enemies. Ezekiel 39 has to be understood in context of Ezekiel 36. Please read Ezekiel 36, verse 20 - "These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land." It is a saying questioning God's ability to defend His people. 19 And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them. 20 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land. 21 But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went. 22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. 23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

Hi Joel - i have listened to a few of your studies . The question i have is - it sounds that you differentiate between Israel and the nations . If you understand Romans 9 : 24 - 26 it clearly shows us grammatically that the Gentiles Paul is addressing here , are the lost tribes of Israel ( 10 tribes ) that were divorced by God . ( Jer 3 : 8 and Hosea 5 : 3-4 ) Would you agree ? So i would want to show that when we talk of Gentiles - it would be the lost House of Israel and people of other nations . Shalom and God bless

Absolutely not. There is no such thing as the lost ten tribes. All of the remnant of Judah and Israel have already been reunited. The Scriptures are clear on this matter. After naming the genealogical list of returnees from the Babylonian captivity, we are told that “all Israel lived in their cities.” (Ezra 2:70). In addressing the returned exiles, Zechariah declared: “Oh house of Judah and house of Israel” (Zechariah 8:13). “And there was a prophetess, Anna the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years and had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage” (Luke 2:36). James, the apostle sent to the circumcision (Jewish people), according to Paul (Gal 2:9), addresses his epistle: “to the twelve tribes who are dispersed abroad” (James 1:1). Blessings.

Thanks for your reply Joel . I would just ask if you have studied the divorce law Deut 24 : 1-4 . When God divorced the House of Israel ( Jer 3:8 ) and declared them defiled in Hosea 5:3-4 , they could never return . Will God violate His own law ? See Hosea 5 : 4 or Hosea 1 : 9 for confirmation that they were no longer part of the Kingdom . So the mystery Paul talks about in few of his epistles , is of course how could God say what He gave in Hosea 1: 10 . If He could not take them back legaly , how was verse 10 possible ? But Yahusha makes it clear - the only time He said what the purpose of His coming to earth was He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." Matthew 15:24 ESV So in the death of Yahusha , the divorce contract was annulled , giving the lost sheep of the House of Israel chance to be reunited to the Kingdom . Ephesians 2 : 12 says : remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. Ephesians 2:12 ESV This could only refer to the declaration in Hosea 5 : 4 . I am not talking about individuals that left the House of Israel , when the Golden calve were set up by Jeraboam , but in the context of how God in Hosea 1 : 9 and Yahusha in Matt 15 : 24 refers to the House of Israel . When all these people return to Israel from i believe Kurdistan and over the world , then all Israel will be saved as seen in the new Jerusalem . Hosea's message is eschatological and for all of Israel, both Judah and Israel. Where it was said to them, “You are not My people,” It will be said to them,
“You are the sons of the living God.” And the sons of Judah and the sons of Israel will be gathered together, and they will appoint for themselves one leader, And they will go up from the land… (Hosea 1:10-11)

But Jer 3 : 8 makes the distiction of divorce ( House of Isreal - northen tribes ) and Judah being punished - Babylon ) i can only think because of King David . This confirms not all Israel were divorced . Matt 15 : 24 would make no sense then . But Ephesians 2 : 12 nails it for me - no other nation were ever alienated from the commonwealth of Israel at that time . Furthermore if we look at the 144000 in Revelation . Who is missing ? Ephraim and Dan - the places where idolatry started with the golden calves . Although the whole of Israel is again combined - these two tribes will have to endure the tribulation . I do not believe we as believers in Yahusha will replace anybody , but by invitation are grafted into believing Israel . Anyway i really thank you for your replies . Just an afterthought - Ephisians 2 : 15 by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, Ephesians 2:15 ESV Law of commandments ? Could that be the Law of divorce ? and then For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree. My point is if Gog is the antichrist, which I agree I think he is, and he is from Rosh, yet is also leader of Mescech and Tubal (Turkey), and if he comes within a generation of Israel's return, thus any time now, then I think it is obvious who he is! I think he will soon not only be in Ukraine but Turkey, meaning NATO will either loose or be no more, or Turkey abandons NATO membership.

Well if you read the bible you will not find Jesus… The bible accounts for around 1% of the total story of which is massively unreliable. There are some 10,000 Christian books outside the Bible… The bible is a cherry picked and messed up narrative as it is a mere echo of what it once was due to 1000s of years of translation, deletions, insertions, rewrites, errors. The truest forms of Christianity are in the discovered ancient texts not the bible. Infact it’s very much accepted by scholars one of the closest books you can get to Jesus, is through the Nag Hammadi. Nearly all Christians deem it heresy as they’re just ignorant and happy to restrict themselves, losing them the ability to find the true Jesus. You’ll notice very quickly it’s clearly Jesus speaking. But it is a vastly different Jesus, it’s the true unedited, unchanged Jesus. The Nag Hammadi Library, The Gnostic Gospels. (Meyer and Elaine Pagels) You might also be interested in The Urantia Books. A fascinating set of 190+ books, some 2300 pages of unbelievable details of God, the Universe and the entire life of Jesus Christ, year by year.

Thank you for a good video with wonderful truths. Allow me to add that one of the reasons why people struggle with "Gog and Magog" appearing in Ezekiel 38 ( before the millennium) and in Revelation 20 ( after the millennium) is because the term Gog refers to Satan the devil who fights these two wars. In the first war recorded in Ezekiel 38, Satan fights this war while he is living inside the body of the Antichrist. Because of this, the Gog of Ezekiel 38 refers to both Satan and the Antichrist who will be one person in those days ( just as God the Father walked on earth as the man Jesus Christ) So Satan will live and walk on earth as the Antichrist also answering to the name of Gog. But when Jesus returns at Armageddon, he throws the Antichrist in the lake of fire but binds Satan ( i.e. Gog) for a thousand years. After the thousand years are over, Satan ( i.e Gog) is released from his prison to go out again to deceive the nations. This is the final battle which Satan, the one known as Gog, fights against God’s people. So in short, Gog is just a title or name for Satan the devil.

That's a really thoughtful analysis. I had never considered that (not that I'm very knowledgable to have done so). I was wondering what you'd make of a rebuttal I had heard elsewhere on KZbin I forget which video but basically it goes like this - "In Ezekial 39 it mentions Gog being buried in what's known as the Valley of Travelers. Ezek. 39:11 going to be called Vally of Hamon-Gog. A place of burial for Gog and all his hordes." So that's definitely the human Gog, not a spirit being. Continuing the counter argument - "However, in Revelation 19:20 it says that the AntiChrist will be thrown 'Alive' into the lake of fire. Is Gog killed and buried, or thrown alive into lake of fire?" Let me know what you think. Super interesting and I would probably agree that Gog is the antichrist but possibly Gog is another king that rises up in accord with the antichrist and the antichrist actually is someone else? It seems pretty clear to me that Armageddon is the same as the Ezekial 38/39 war but I'm so confused on how it matched up. Praise to God for His infite wisdom in orchestrating this whole story for His glory and not by our own wisdom.

was he referring to the canonized Bible? those books that were considered not inspired by God even though thats an absurdity? because if you read it, its definitely inspired by God, and the book of Enoch does also dive into the end times alot deeper. not to start an argument, i don't know exactly what text he's referring to but the canonized books weren't in the main bible but i see them as part of the Bible.
