There is no imminence promised in the Bible. "I come quickly" refers to the fact that 1) The unbelievers will be caught unaware. 2) Once it begins, it will be like a tsunami, rapid destruction. Peter knew he would die before the Lord's return. Paul knew that he was to take a very long journey to Rome so, the rapture was not imminent. Israel must be in her own land. There was no way the rapture was imminent before 1948. The empire that followed the Rom an empire (the Ottomans) must be revived if, indeed, it is the final Beast of Daniel and Rev. The Ottoman empire is being revived in our time.
