Anton Lesser was superb in Endeavour . A very fine actor in absolutely everything he does and ALWAYS , so self effacing . And so was every main character in this exceptionally well written , acted and executed series . Accompanied and underwritten by the production and the accompanying score of the phenomenal Barrington Pheloung. Enough to make one weep !

Possibly the finest actor in the series. He’s like a chameleon. He can be seen in other series like Midsomer Murders and New Tricks and be unrecognisable.

It's always a welcome surprise to him, usually in a great character role. But I'd never imagine him giggling like he is here.

His ability to communicate a wide range or emotions in brief dialogue is impressive. Flashes of anger can turn contemplative and calm then end with a light laugh, all in couple lines. It's that voice and that face. It's wonderful to see him perform his craft.

What a delight of a man. Still a happy and a bit mischieveous child at heart, and a brilliant actor! Reginald Bright is such a serious hard ass, Anton is in every aspect the oppisite.

He played the wonderful Marcus Didius Falco… the bbc plays starting with “the silver pigs” written by Lindsey Davis and continue with Venice in Copper and Shadows in Bronze
