Thank you for this! The voltage switch-you can’t see and I expected an actual switch. Mine came with an American cord but was set to European voltage. Added in there were exactly ZERO instructions on how to “thread” the machine. Your video was super helpful for this first time 3D printer-thank you!!

Hello I am new to 3-D printing and got this as my first printer for my birthday. Followed the steps and when I got to turning it on, it automatically goes to language and I click the back arrow and it’s asking me to select the tool header type, and the options are FDM or laser, I don’t know which one to pick.
@dandesigns3d7 ай бұрын
You choose FDM for printing. Laser is for the laser engraving attachment that is available. The good news is that means you have newer firmware. The old firmware didn't ask that. Enjoy!

@@dandesigns3d thank you that’s good to know if I were to get the laser attachment in the future would I be able to switch back-and-forth from printing and lasering?

Yeah, it's in the Settings - Advanced menu (I believe). You can switch back and forth. I don't have the laser. I plan on getting a stand alone laser soon.

I wonder you only have 50 subscribers, the video quality and editing is absolutely amazing and look so professional.. best wishes for future. I am using ender 3 since 5 years, and now I am thinking to go with s1 pro. Will it be worth upgrading ? I am not gonna replace my old ender 3, but I'm tired of leveling, and filament breaking problems. Although I'm happy with the printer.. but S1 pro has much better features.. What do you suggest ? S1 pro or any other printer in the same price bracket..?
@dandesigns3d Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm hoping the subs are just getting started. I've got 51 subs now! Thanks! For the printer. I really like my S1 Pro. I have had to replace the thermsistor already but it was $15. It was dripping in and out. The leveling is really nice. I added gcode to auto level before every print. I would buy it again if I didn't have one. Would like to have multiple heads but that's more expensive. If you are having filament breaking issues you may want to look at how your storing it. Humidity can make it brittle and cause bubbles and stringing.

I would go with the new Ender 3 V3 SE, it's only around £200/$200 and has most of the features of this S1 Pro plus auto Z offset.

You can search for stl files and find a bunch. Thingiverse and myminifactory are a couple sites to check out. Then you need to use a slicer to get them ready for your printer. I do have this video planned but it will be a bit before I get to it. So I hope this helps.

How's the new 3D printer working out. Printing anything fun?
@Rich100009 ай бұрын
@@dandesigns3d Sadly, I had big issues printing larger prints which used a lot of the bed. So I sent it back while I could I think it was a software issue with the auto bed levelling. Itd not lay down the first few layers right and then the nozzle would start hitting. Theres lots on the internet about it, apparently updating the firmware is pretty risky. Spent hours trying to get it to work. Was a nice machine and the quality of the smaller prints was very nice.
@dandesigns3d9 ай бұрын
That's a bummer. I hope you find a printer that works for you. When printing large prints the Z offset and cleaning your bed prior to starting become very important. I've also heard of some people having trouble with firmware updates also. Actually, first layer adhesion and firmware update process are two videos on my short list.

@dandesigns3d15 күн бұрын
You have to do the auxiliary level at initial setup, after a firmware update, and after a nozzle change. Also, if the auto level fails you need to do the auxiliary level.

I'm going to do a video about this soon. Clean your bed with rubbing alcohol right before the print and make sure you z height is set right. I find most of my failures are due to too high of a z offset. Watch as the brim is printed and if it is not sticking well touch the upper portion of the screen and then Z-Offset. You can adjust it closer or farther away while it's printing. Be careful not to dig it into your bed though. This video will help too. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2jGhamCpb1_bLc

Should I put the PLA in before it starts heating or once it’s done heating?

It has to be hot before you can load the PLA because it has to melt it to allow you to push it through and purge the last material.

It would be good if you could inform your viewers that this printer does not recognise folders on the SD card, I finally got Creality to admit today that this is correct. their reply is below: If you put the folder in the memory card, the display will not recognize it, please do not put the folder into the memory card, and the print file should be placed in the root directory of the memory card. If placed in a folder, it may be misrecognized (Their spelling not mine). So there you have it, they screwed up the software, which is effectively a downgrade on this machine!

I haven't noticed this one. But I did notice that if you put too many files on the SD card they just stop showing up. Maybe I'll do a video of common bugs and how to work around. Do you have any others?

Hi Dan, sorry to change my 'thumbs up' to a 'thumb down', but after watching your video and following the steps, my plate got damaged and nozzle broke. It seems that after the leveling you show, you need to set the z-axis zero point. You didn't tell in the video and went from auto-leveling straight to printing. Can you put this in the video to 'protect' other newbies like me?
@dandesigns3d Жыл бұрын
Hey willrooy. Sorry to hear that happened to you. You shouldn't have to reset the z-offset after leveling. The step at 13:50 is setting the z-offset. I have heard of others in forums having issues with z-offset changing on them when it shouldn't. You might want to contact support because I think there is something wrong with your printer.
