i almost never leave youtube comments but this felt very warranted for one. its been over a month straight now since picking up the hot end/thermister you recommended and i havent had a single issue since. this works so well they should honestly just include this. thank you so much for this info! I can even print ABS now which I could never do before without running into temp issues

A huge Thank You. I watched so many videos made by 3D printing "experts" and only yours got to the source of the issue. I would have never guessed without you, that the thermistor needs thermal paste to function properly. Greetings from Poland!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE VIDEO. I've had an Ender 3 NEO for 3 weeks and the last 4 days it's been giving me problems with hotend temperature instability and E1 errors. I contacted Creality and they gave me erratic instructions, such as checking the thermistor screw or checking the wiring. Today they gave me an AUTOPID file to calibrate the temperatures but it didn't help either. I watched your video and understood the problem, I'm going to order the kit, but I'm going to give a temporary solution for people who have the problem and can't buy the kit or it takes a while to arrive. I've tried to remove the thermistor and it's been impossible without breaking it, and since I don't have a replacement, I've left it inside, but I've taken CPU thermal compound, one that I have that doesn't solidify, it stays liquid for a long time, and I've filled the thermistor hole sealing it from the outside. I've been printing for 4 hours with the temperature totally stable, it doesn't move a degree!!! if this happens to you, until you get a new kit, try filling the entire thermistor hole with CPU thermal compound, it works!!! I don't know how long, but it works for now.

A Very straightforward tutorial with links. Super easy fix as I was running big prints and getting thermal runaways sometimes 8 hours in. Thank you for the information.

Thank you for this tip! I had thermal runaway issues with my Ender3 V2 Neo, so I decided to order the kit. Here are my key takeaways: -Thermal Runaway Warnings May Persist: The kit may still trigger thermal runaway warnings. This happens because you need to perform a PID tuning (or use MPC) for your new hotend. The firmware tries to predict temperature changes but fails since it's tuned for the original hotend, leading to larger temperature fluctuations. PID tuning is only possible with alternative firmware or terminal access to your printer (such as through OctoPrint). -Thermistor Beta Value Differences: Even after PID tuning, you may still encounter runaway warnings. The thermistor in the kit has a different beta value than the stock one (3950 vs. 4092), which causes a temperature reading offset (10-20°C). This makes the temperature plot appear irregular. To fix this, you need firmware configured to recognize a T13 thermistor type (the stock thermistor is T1). -Firmware Solution: I flashed the MRiscoc firmware, which conveniently offers a version with T13 pre-set. This resolved all the temperature issues. -Ender3 V2 Neo-Specific Note: The heater block doesn’t fit directly onto the Neo heatsink. If you want to keep the Neo heatsink (I did, as the Ender 3 heatsink looks toylike compared to the Neos), you’ll need an M2x16 screw and tighten only one side of the heater block. This will result in a slightly skewed heater block, but print quality remains unaffected since the nozzle is still vertically aligned. Hope this helps a few people!

Thanks for sharing. I've yet to have thermal runaways, but I'd like to upgrade my thermistor. The heater block supplied in the kit is aluminum, the one I have is copper version of the stock aluminum (holes matches), which is better with transferring heat. Would that thermistor screw in where the captive screw would normally screw in?

Is thermistor runaway where the temperature constantly goes up and down but never stay at the temp the print is set at?

@ChrisRiley3D-Everything Жыл бұрын
everything should just plug in. if they dont just cut the old wires from the heat block and splice the new heat block in. you cant cross the wires. just splice the big wires to the big wires and the small wires to the other small wires. you cant cross them, those wires dont have a positive and negative so you cant cross them, they will work wired ether way as long as you put the big wires with the big wires and small with the small.
