It's... debatable. Most importantly - we were given a choice for a reason. It's up to you to decide what "makes the most sense" for you and your character. I'm ok with all given choices tbh and i see how any of them can fit.

[SPOILER] . . . . . Well... As much as I love Tharael, even if we convince him to live he would still have died because of the cleansing so.... Yeah I think this is the best ending. And I actually find this scene tragically beautiful, now he's with Letho.
@JoeKing694 жыл бұрын
YES this is precisely what I thought to myself when i debated over redoing the questline. The ending where he lives robs you of much of the story's emotional weight. Really, I couldn't imagine things ending any other way for him.

Narrative wise, absolutely the best choice. I got the suicide ending and felt the emotional hit. But watching scenes of him getting a second chance at life, just seems so out of place. The guy probably would have gone mad like Sister Pride. Also he dies regardless of what ending you have for all Enderal anyway.

there are some other variations of the endings too. You can disrespect the Rhalata, give fake heart, do not wear robe, talk bad with them, etc. At the end the Father will instantly be your enemy without you having to choose, he will have a separate dialogue specifying that it was obvious that you were up to something from the mistakes. Also there is possible to give up Tharael's plan to the Father in your first dialogue with him, i don't know how i reached this option because in the next playthrough i didn't have it, maybe it's about how much Tharael trusts you at some point. Then at the end you will have Tharael as enemy instantly without having to choose, with separate dialogue saying that i gave him up. There is one more option that i didn't discover fully, if Tharael don't trust you enough then when you first meet the Father you don't have option to give up his plan, there was some other option but i missed it because i wanted to see a side dialogue first and then it disappeared when i came back, probably bugged. Also who knows what other variations with trusts and mistakes could still be. EDIT: Tharael comes in your house in Noble's Quarter if you have it.

Honestly I don’t see how anyone would side with the Father. I think the Father is a very interesting, intelligent character, but that doesn’t change what he did. He gave Tharael a new chance at life, but who’s to say he would’ve died? Father could’ve been lying about that. He took everything from Tharael, even his own soul. Tharael honestly had every right to act as he did, and the fact that you get better rewards for killing him upsets me

Okay idk how I only noticed this after 3 years of playing the questline but when the Father leaves you his mask, isn't that a writing error? So if he survives he turns into furniture? While I would've loved to save his life, him dying seems the most appropriate ending, it closes his arc very well since he had to kill his best friend and failed his life mission, meaning all the terrible stuff he had to do was for nothing. No, some people you just can't save. And deep down he knew that, either way, this is how it would end.

I sided with the Father and killed Tharael. No regrets. Here's why: - It turned out Tharael was kind of wrong about almost everything and the Father wasn't even really "evil". He still wanted to kill him. No thanks. - Tharael in the end was just a cynical, egoistic bastard who couldn't deal with his past (which also was his only "excuse" for him being an asshole to everyone). - Tharael also never really gave a shit about the players opinion on things. - Tharael pissed me off by just killing Zar'Ah, who was literally the only nice person around there (Fun Fact: She also was Jespars former companion).

I debated for a while and fight the father. One thing I like about your views is that so many people want to save him because of second chances or they like him. Tharael is not a nice person, he has also done damage to other people, the innocent he killed on the way here, those he mentioned part of being a job, and like "it's not common for the Rhalata to kill anyway", the family of the old man that spotted, Zar'Ah the only nice person, that let down her guard towards us. Those that he hurt deserve compensation. If other people deserve to die, why not him? I actually respect him more at the end when he finally realise how bad he is and he paid for his sins by dying. I don't advocate suicide but I think that's sort of fair. Usually in this sort of story, Tharael would be the kind that "bad turn good" cause he "deserve a second chance" but actually is because people find him attractive or bonded to him. I killed the father because I was looking forward to the boss fight and was wanting to figure out what would happen if i kill the 400 year old guy. But I was doubting myself during the fight as well. I'm glad the father survived, unlike most enemies in game cause it shows that just because we are the main character we don't have to and we can't kill everybody. Make sense as he is over 400 years old. I usually have the habit of reloading every save to pick the "he like that option" but now i just goes with whatever I feel like saying, see which characters likes me naturally. I don't care if Tharael don't like me.
@kallamarsspouse3 жыл бұрын
It is evil to EXPERIMENT on children. Didn't you listen to what he said? He used children because they were "untarnished". I remember calling him out for talking about children like they were objects and asked if he had no empathy. He said empathy didn't matter, only results. The children were objects to him. He would've used healthy children if he could've gotten away with it. The logic doesn't even make sense, like for example. Your loved one is terminal and I wanna test out if I can catapult a human over a wall. Is it okay if I catapult them if they're gonna die anyway? None of the children survived the Father's experiments btw. He turned Letho into a sentient meat shield/weapon, Nessah went insane, and Tharael was also feral. All this loser did was murder and traumatize kids and SOMEHOW people still defend him. Be my guest and side with him for roleplay reasons and to get the mount, but to defend his behavior is bonkers. Also I can tell you a way to get the mount without siding with the Father. You go to the area it spawns in, then imput prid xx(the rest of its id, the first two bits are based off your load order. To find what the first two are, type help mask and use the first two symbols listed beside the Father's mask) and then click enable. After that you can hop on it and name it and it'll be connected to your flute. Just spawning it in doesn't work and could break your game. Edit; Just remembered the part where Tharael (in his dissociated state where he reverts to a child like state) talks about how the Father would scream at them for "interfering with his work" during the experiments. He was tearing out their souls and causing immense amounts of pain. That's not chaotic good, that's lawful evil. Goodbye.
@rachlloyd16052 жыл бұрын
@@kallamarsspouse fully agree, what the father did was just pure evil. justifying it by saying that he "saved" the kids as if he didnt traumatize the living daylights out of poor Nessah and Tharael and completely destroy Letho. all those kids were to him, were a means to an end. They were probably better off living the rest of their short lives in hope of a cure, surrounded by their friends, than dying under the hands of the Father, having their last moments on earth be fuelled by fear and terror before he killed them. Tharael was a major asshole but the dude spent his whole entire life angry, planning for revenge. he was messed up in the head i dont blame him one bit. Deadass felt so bad for him i googled my way into cheating just so i could save his broken ass at the end of the quest cuz i just felt like he deserved a second chance at life.
