If you're open to advice... We ride the same trail conditions in Pacific Northwest (North America). We always say "you need to ride light" in wet & steep conditions, especially the front tire. You're doing the exact opposite: riding heavy and slow, braking on that front wheel. It'll wash out every time. I know it takes extra confidence, but a little more speed (less front brakes) and a lively cockpit full of pops over those roots is a much safer approach for these conditions. Additionally, the bar was twisted out of your hands a couple of times. I recommend a little strength training (or just a better deathgrip) to ensure you own that handlebar. I've personally managed to stay upright through some bad mistakes when my arm strength is tuned.

I'm always open to advice :D The thing is that I kinda know these things tho, defenetely not saying that it is bad advice because it's not, I just think that a lot of it will have to come with experience :D I've ''only'' been riding for 1,5 years and since I spent a big portion of last winter either not riding or in New Zealand (in the dry) this winter is my first proper test in conditions like these. :) So I do know that speed helps, it will just have to come at a pace as I get more confident in wet muddy conditions. :D Something that made me go pretty slow too was the fact that there were so many fallen trees + I was riding it all blind, you can for sure ride a whole lot faster than what I did if you are more confident in your blind riding (once again, experience xD) but for me it is hard to commit fully to a trail when I have no idea what is coming up. :) I don't know if it is just a mental thing but something I will for sure change for next winter is my front tire. I've been running a DHF the entire year, like I said , might just be more of a mental block but not having a more suited spiky tire for the winter does effect my riding a bit, dunno if you change during the winter or if you just have a better all rounder? :D The handlebar twists are a bit wierd, at least the last one. I don't think Iv'e ever had a crash before when it twist from seemingly nothing like that so it was a bit odd. :O Don't know if the fact that it was my 3rd day straight riding (not something I usually do) had a part to play. Either or, I have actually started to hit the gym as of recently so that should help that situtation regardless of why it happened. xD But ye, at the end of the day it comes down to experience and just to keep on going out in conditions like these. :D Bike control will also help, getting better at for example hopping and staying more active on the bike is also something that I need to work on. :)

Not a bad spot to have as your backyard ;) Ye the area around Jakobsdalsberget was awesome but I'll happily have a tour of other areas ;) Won't be there super often since it is about a 5+ hour drive but I have my grandma and cousins in Linköping so I'll be around the area maybe once or twice per year :D But I will make sure to write the next time I am planning a trip :D Thanks a lot, it's been a good 3+ weeks now so it's recovering nicely :D

@piffie1 Glad to hear your getting better 😊 There is heaps of trails in the naturreservat next to Jakobdalsberget and then even more towards Sörsjön a little north of Ågelsjön, then there is a whole system of gnarley trails on the other side of Ågelsjön behind yxbacken 😅 if your visiting Norrköping, you have to check out Vrinneviskogen out by the hospital aswell! Its not so much steep terräng but it has some really cool features that i am trying to overcome 🫣

@@mauchlenoliver Ye iv'e seen on trailfork that there are a bunch of trails, it's just super tricky to know what's worth getting to when you haven't been there before so a guide the next time will be perfect to know what trails to pick :D Vrinneviskogen sounds very interesting, will for sure check that out the next time, no promises that I will ride the stuff tho if it is super gnarly xD
